AM7266-D upgrade help by
Christopher
Can anyone please suggest or give some advice regarding upgrading my ASUS
motherboard.
I currently have 2 AMD2400 MP chips. I want to move up to AMD3200.
Is using a single AMD3200 XP better than 2 AMD2400? Does the 2400 run like a
2.4GHz? If so, the 2800 runs like a 2.8GHz?
Should I just go...

Amazing Test of Fan Configurations by
Ed Light

They tested everything from no case fans to 5 case fans, and the winner was
the rear fan(s) only. Just amazing.

Crow
OS: Windows XP Pro SP2
RAM: 1.5GB
Video: BFG Tech 6800OC 128MB
I am currently unable to get “Cool N Quiet” to function on my system.
While it was operational in the past, I noticed today that the clock is
no longer being throttled. I discovered this when I right-clicked on
“My Computer,” and...

AMD - way to go? by
Jason Backshall
Probably the wrong place to be asking for an unbiased answer, I'll give it a
go anyway.
In the past, I've always been an Intel fan. Can't quite put my finger on the
reason why, however they've just always 'felt' faster. I did make the move
to an Athlon 1700+ at one stage and enjoyed it...

Hi,
I have a AMD 2400 which is cooled by a fan.
The case has a 400 watt psu and a 120mm fan.

Amd 3700 s754 by
Guitarcrazy
Hello.
1st time poster. I have a quick question for the experienced. Are there
any concerns with the 'standard' (ie Amd retail version) of the heatsink/fan
that comes standard with this chip? I just purchased one from Newegg (along
with a DFI Lan nf3, OCZ 2x512 Pc3200), and I want to know if I...

AMD 5600+ runs too hot - why? by
surface9
I just built an AMD 5600+ system (with the heatsink/fan that came in
the retail box) and when I was just going into the bios screens it
heated up to over 80C - why? The CPU fan was running good and strong
and the heatsink was too hot to touch - it nearly burned me when I
just tapped it. I had to...

AMD 64 +3000 AMD 64 X2 +4200: System seems slower by
The Frozen Canuck
After flashing the bios, installing the new processor my system seems
slower. A benchmark on Doom 3 yields 40 FPS instead of the usual 46. I
notice much better multitasking though.
Is there anything I should look for in my system to rectify this? Using
CPU-Z everything looks fine as I can...
