Hi All,
Just upgraded to an Atlon 64 3500+ venice and was wondering which is the
best thermal compoud to use on this ?.
Also what would you say is the best heatsink if I was to replace the stock
one ?

Does anyone here know what kind of thermal paste AMD uses on the pad on
their latest heatsink/fans in the retail boxed CPUs?
I picked up a retail boxed Athlon 64 3000+ CPU with a Venice core.
The paste on the pad is silver and looks like it's either silver or
aluminum.

I notice when playing games, opening/closing various apps, etc. my CPU
constantly switches to and from 2.4GHz/1.0GHz (power mgmt is set to
portable/laptop). I like this, it dont seem to compromise performance and it
idles alot cooler, however, is this frequent changing of the CPU speed too
hard...

clock rate. I believe the number is supposed to mean how fast it is
relative to Intel chips, i.e. a 3200+ AMD chip should be as fast as a
3.2Ghz P4.
