Thinking Dual-AMD for next slack box... by thrugoodmarshall
I've been running slackware for a few years now on a dual PIII 600. It was a screamer when I bought it, but it's getting kinda slow on builds. Built firefox last night--started the build watched "Forbidden Planet" with my wife, and the damned thing was still building when we went to bed! Sometime...

ATI have beta Cats out for AMD64 Windows. Still no Linux drivers though :/ Take your time ATI. You can launch beta drivers for an OS that isn't even out yet but can't be ****ed for one that has been around for a year. *******s. K

2 cpu on one chip. by the gnome
I keep seeing reports that AMD are going to do a 2 on 1 chip but am confused as to the number of pins. Will this chip replaced the AMD 64 chip, with 900 and something pins, or will they be an upgrade route for an opteron. Anyone know ? the_gnome

I just purchased mine 3 weeks ago, and it just became available 4 weeks ago (Chaintech VNF3-250). I don't want to see my investment go the way of the dinosaur in less than a year? thank you, Wayne

I know red hat has a version of linux they sell which doesn't need recompiling for the athlon64 and also suse has one too. Updated K8T Master2 FAR to use K8T800Pro chipset? by Brian Hall
That's the question- anybody know/heard rumours if MSI will be making a dual Opteron motherboard with the Via K8T800Pro chipset soon? I've been waiting on the 939s, now that they're out I am _very_ disappointed with the pricing so I am looking again at dual Opterons. I'd hate to buy one of these...
