How to test motherboard video card slot? by [email protected]
Recently, I tried installing a graphics card which ruined both the Power Source and the graphics card. The Power Source started smoking and I had to get them both replaced. Currently I have the original graphics card installed in my computer and everything seemingly works okay, but I am unsure. I...

Lesser 8000 Series Cards? by Peter van der Goes
I seem to recall reading somewhere that NVIDIA would be coming out with lesser chipsets in the 8000 series for those who don't want or need the power of the 8800 cards. Does anybody here have any information, or a link, that addresses what may be forthcoming, and when? Thanks in advance.

Killzone PS3 in September? LoL can't wait to see the MASSIVE DOWNGRADE by AirRaid[_2_]
"First-person shooter Killzone, too, should surface in September" http://threespeech.com/blog/?p=377 http://tinyurl.com/2rbuom there's no way that Killzone running on RSX, a GPU that is a downgraded NV47 / G70 / GeForce 7800 GTX, will look anything like the trailer shown at E3 2005.

AGP card to drive DVI@1600x1200 and VGA@1280x1024? by Grant Edwards
I need to upgrade my GeForce3 Ti 200 to something that will drive two monitors: a DVI-D at 1600x1200 and an analog VGA at 1280x1024. AGP 8X. Fanless if at all possible. 3D performance isn't too important -- the old card was fine.

BFG 6800 Ultra OC reports insufficent power by David Showers
Bought card off EBAY with a Zalman cooler, ntune reports 425/1100 and provides very good display. Problem is that on power up to Windows NVIDIA reports insufficent power warning & suggests that card will have reduced POWER, I don't see that. I have a 600W "X" power supply with minimal power...

CRYSIS vs MGS4 by AirRaid[_2_]
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=149512 silly, yet interesting comparison. of course Crysis wipes the floor with Metal Gear Solid 4. MGS4 has better art direction, but Crysis kicks the living **** out of MGS4 technically. MGS4 would've had a chance if its graphics were still at the...

GeForce GPU shut down temperature? by John Doe
BFG GeForce 7950GT NVIDIA Control Panel says my GPU temperature is about 60°C It says shutdown threshold is 130°C Two questions: Do I have to set anything to enforce the shutdown threshold? I definitely do want it to automatically shut down at a high temperature.
