essvr.exe shuts down at desktop. What is essvr.exe? by
Bob Smith[_3_]
I just bought a Gigabyte 880GM-UD2H mobo. It was a CPU mobo combo deal
(CPU - DualCore AMD Athlon II X2 255, 3100 MHz (15.5 x 200) 3.1GIG). I
keep getting this error message at desktop "essvr.exe has encountered
a problem and needs to shut down." What is essvr.exe? Is it essential
to have running...

GA-8IEXP BIOS flashing procedure by
Russell May
I have a 2002-vintage Gigabyte GA-8IEXP version 1.2 motherboard, now
using a 2.4GHz Pentium CPU and BIOS version F8. I am hoping to install
a 3.06MHz CPU with HT (hyperthreading) and BIOS version F9, which
supports HT. I have not yet installed the new CPU.
I changed the original F7 BIOS to F8 in...

GA-8IEXP with 333MHz memory clock? by
Russell May
I have a 2002-vintage Gigabyte GA-8IEXP version 1.2 motherboard, now
using a 2.4GHz Pentium CPU, 266MHz FSB, BIOS version F8, 1.5GB of
PC2700 (333MHz) ECC memory on four DIMMS. The BIOS Setup allows Host
to Memory Clock ratios of only 1.5 and 2.0, so the maximum memory
speed is only 266MHz without...

Shopping For SSD by
(PeteCresswell)
I'm thinking about re-building my EP45-UD3L using one of these
http://tinyurl.com/4jo3293 or these http://tinyurl.com/4uzxupl
puppies as the system drive.
Other than the power consumptions, does anybody know what the
diff between them is?
Does using either one sound reasonable?
Caveats?

Building a PC - bundle suggestions by
Phat_Jethro
Hey all,
I am looking at helping my bro build a budget mid-range gaming PC for my
niece.
To keep costs down I was thinking of going the AMD route to get good
performance for a lower cost. The last while I have been all Intel so I
am out of the AMD and thought to pose the question to the...

Does Gigabyte RAID 5 have standby drive autorecover? by
Nick Mirro
We want to replace an old HP proliant server with RAID 5. HP server
bios allows config of an unused standby drive to automatically kick
in
if any active drive in the array fails.
Regular consumer MBs seem to all support RAID 5 but this is not
documented. We are thinking of a gigabyte board. Do...

still nothing. I just don't see those activation e-mails in my inbox and
no spam folder...

What is the unique feature of GA-X58A-UD3R? by
dgront
I would like to buy GA-X58A-UD3R MoB for my i7. The problem is that my
university will pay for it from public money. I can't just go to the
nearest store and grab it.
Instead, my university has to publish the "Express of interest" that
it wants to buy a computer. I can write the relevant part of...

New Mobo, Fan Does'nt Turn by
[email protected][_2_]
Just bought a GByte GA-P41-ES3G and fitted CPU Intel 430 LGA 775.
CPU fan only spins a few seconds then stops. Nothing on the screen, no
bios display. The PSU is a bog-standard 20 pin plus the extra 4 pin
plug nr the CPU. Should I invest in a 24-pin PSU, would it make any
difference? Do people use...

Socket 775 LGA Mobo w/PCI x4 - That Takes Same Memory As EP45-UD3L by
(PeteCresswell)
I've got an EP45-UD3L, but am thinking about getting one of these
things http://tinyurl.com/32h3xcx to speed things up.
But that's an x4 card.
Is there a GigaByte board with x4 slots that I could recycle my
current CPU and memory into?
