Serial com port trouble by
Pierre Desjardins
Hi too all,
I have a problem with a comm port. The board is a SOYO K7VMP2. I plan
to use it with a ham radio transceiver to put it in TX mode via a
software. The signal is sent trough a DB25 (RTS with pn 5 and 7).
Here what is happening:
The PC is off, I plug on the serial port the cable from...

Epox EP-8K3A+ and Raid-1 by
Jordan
I am running Win2k server with two 40 gig harddrives. Is it possible to
implement Raid-1 while maintaining the data on the C drive, or would
implementing Raid-1 require formatting both drives and starting over?

HI, I'm running a P4 3.0 on XP Pro
It's been running fine for the last few months but all of a sudden I
can't get it to stop restarting.
Sometimes I can get as far as logging on to XP and other times it only
gets as far as the loading screen before a blue screen Shudder

Checking RAM ECC OR NON-ECC by
Joker47
Is there a utility available that will check DDR RAM to see if it is
ECC or Non-ECC? Or is there any way to look at the RAM Stick and find
out this information?
Thanks.

Memtest86 reports no error at the store, but reports errors here!! by
Admin
I don't know what is going on with my DDR Ram memory here.
Earlier this week, I have run a memtest86 in the office and found out that
the memory was bad (lots of red error messages on the screen).
I took it to the computer store, they tested it, and they found the same
errors. The guy said he...

Building new system -- which CPU? by
Joe Befumo
I'm about to put together a new workstation, and would appreciate advice as
to the most suitable CPU. My primary use is for sometimes hungery apps,
such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Cakewalk Sonar -- I rarely use it
for any kind of gaming.
My first and foremost concern is stability. The...

Software for server by
Michael C
I've got a customer who has about 10 PCs all running winxp pro and a server
that's also XP Pro. The server is going to be replaced soon and I'm
wondering if it's worth putting win2k server on it. I can't really think of
any reasons though. Can anyone think of any benefits they'd gain?
Cheers,
Mike

External DVD Burner on USB 1.1 by
DA
Hello everyone!
Wanted to ask for opinions in this group:
I have an older HP e-PC 40 computer that lacks both space for a 5.25"
device and USB2.0 I do like the PC 'cause it's small and silent but I
would very much like to equip it with a DVD or at the very least a CD
burner. Coincidentally, I do...

Clevo D900T problem with 100GB harddisks. by
Erwin R. Leijen
Good evening all,
A few days ago I upgraded my Clevo D900T notebook with some new
harddisks. The computer originally came with two 80GB Sata harddisks,
which can be configured as "normal" Sata drives (which gives you two
80GB drives) or as a Raid1 drive (which gives you one 160GB drive).
Since I...

Windows drivers for an apple monitor by
Alceryes
....continuing saga from a previous post.
I found the piece of hardware I need to use an ADC monitor with a DVI
connector. However what about drivers?
Should I just be able to pick plug and play or standard 1600x1200 LCD? Does
apple even make Windows drivers for their equipment?
Thanks.
