Canon Canoscan Lide 30 and Laptop by
Lenny
I'm about to purchase the Canoscan Lide 30 for use on a laptop. However,
since this scanner gets its power from the USB port, I'm worried about
a) not enough power for the scanner through the laptop's USB port
b) the scanner draining the laptop battery
Should I get a scanner with an AC power...

Canon CanoScan N1240U good enough image quality but too slow by
Peter Sale
My CanoScan N1240U scanner, set to "Color(Documents)" and 300dpi, takes 3.5 minutes (210 seconds) to scan one page of PC World Magazine (actually page 175 of the July 2004 issue). The resulting image quality, a PDF file, is just fine, but the time to scan this images is more than I care to wait. ...

Canon Canoscan vs Nikon IV by
Jen
I've finally decided to look into buying a new scanner, since I finally gave
up my darkroom. After doing some research I think I've settled on either
the Canon LS4000 or the Nikon IV ED (ls 40). I was hoping someone could
break this down for me. I have an HP Photosmart that I've been using...

Canon D2400U forgets where scan head is by
Nonny Mouse
My Canon D2400U seems to be forgetting where the scan head is each time
it is powered on.
When previewing/scanning, it tries to move the scan head back past the
end of the scanner. After a lot of grinding, the driver complains either
that the scanner is locked (it isn't), or gives an error code...

Canon D600 series flatbed scanners. by
alien2843
HI folks,
I've just read the various messages regarding a film on the inside face of a
D670U scanner and the messages that followed this.
The film, on the inside at least is, I believe, plasticiser from the case
that evaporates due to the heat build up from the lamp.
When I asked Canon about...

Canon d660u by
Garrett Prestage
I have had a canon D660U for ages & it's worked fine, both under my old
Windows 98 system & under my more recent XP system. But suddenly today it's
stopped working. The system claims not to be able to find the scanner. It's
connected fine (in fact I hadn't even changed the connections)....

Canon D660U Scanner by
Anopheles
I have had a D660U for several years and find it excellent. Recently I
reinstalled it on a new computer and cannot get the lamp to shut down after
a ser period. I can recall upgrading the software somewhere and this had a
checkbox in it for turning the lamp off. The CD software doesn't. I am at...

Canon FS4000 question by
Gridley
I've recently returned to shooting slides instead of negative film and
was wondering if there is any "best" way to feed them into my Canoscan
FS4000. Is there any advantage to using the film carrier or the slide
carrier? Would there be any advantage to having my slides not mounted
and left in...

Canon FS4000US advice sought by
John
1. Does it make any difference altering histogram etc before scanning? Does
this affect the way the scanner scans a negative/slide or are all the
'changes' done afterwards i.e. the slide can be scanned at normal settings
and edited afterwards.
2. Using FARE (dust and scratch remover) sometimes...

Canon Lide 20 / D660U drivers by

I have a Canon Lide 20 scanner at work, and a Canon D660U at home. I use the
"scan to pdf' feature of the lide 20 software often. Is there a way I can
get this software to work on the D660U? I have installed the lide 20
software with the D660U and it say that it is unable to locate the scanner.
Any...

Canon LiDE 25 & LiDE 70 by
Talal Itani
My old HP scanner finally quit all the way. So I went to Newegg, and I
found two really inexpensive scanners: Canon LiDE 25 is for $44.77, Canon
LiDE 70 is for $89.88. I will not be scanning any photographs, since I have
a digital camera. Yet every once in a while I scan a document. These...
