"TLB parity error in virtual array; TLB error 'instruction"? by
Ant[_3_]
Hello.
Lately, I have been random and rare kernel panics on my old Debian/Linux
box (tried both Kernel versions 2.6.30 and 2.6.32). I couldn't figure
out what it was until I discovered mcelog a couple days ago, and it
revealed interesting scary datas in my dmesg/messages and syslog:

Effective speed of Phenom X3 is faster than Phenom X4 !! by
reikred
I recently upgraded my AMD Phenom X3 8650 to an X4 9600 with the same
clock speed (2.3GHz).
Imagine my surprise when the X4 turned out to be dog slow on my
workload, which fundamentally is several (~5) firefox browser with a
few hundred tabs to load up. The X4 could not even keep my DSL going

Athlon 64 queries by
Spiro
Hi,
I'm currently trying to decide between an Athlon 64 3200+ and a P4, 2.8 -
3.0
My main interest is in digital photography and I want something that will
handle large RAW files quickly. Gaming etc is not really a priority. I'll
also be using 1024 Mb of RAM
I've read extensively about the...

shadow page tables by
Prasad
Hello All,
I have a question on usage of shadow page tables in virtualized
environment.
AMD processor with virtualization extension support use Address Space
Identifier (ASID) to identify a VM uniquely. The ASID is used to avoid
flushing of TLB entries when host OS switches from one VM to...

X2 vs X4 by
Dave[_33_]
If an application does NOT support multiple CPU cores, will it run
slower on a Phenom 2.4 GHz CPU than it would on an X2 2.4 GHz CPU?
I currently have a 2.2 GHz X2 and I want to upgrade it. My motherboard
supports the Phemon X4 but from what I'm reading, software that doesn't
support multiple...

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang Opens A Can of Words on Intel by
NV55
http://tinyurl.com/3htnuq
I've never heard Jen-Hsun go on about Intel like that in a conference
call before.
He must truly be worried about Intel's upcoming Larrabee
architecture.
I think Larrabee scares the living **** out of him.

How to slow down CPU, and also get memory up to speed? by
Steven O.
I know almost everyone out there wants to make their CPU faster, but
I'd rather slow mine down just a tad - less stress on the system, less
worry about failure. I just built a new system with the ASUS A8N-SLI
series motherboard.
The CPU is an AMD Athlon 3500+, which is supposed to run at 2200...
