I use SpeedFan to control the CPU fan on this board. It also monitors RPM on the PWR and SYS fan headers but there is no control to vary these fan speeds. Does any know if it is possible to control these other fan headers? TIA Adrian

Hi folks. I'm having trouble getting a stable system. I have a GA 7N400 Pro2 with a Barton 3000+ cpu, 1GB kingston ram, eVGA Geforce 6800 (which replaced an ATI Radeon AIW9800 pro 128mb that constantly crashed the system), Audigy 2 ZS platinum, wd and maxtor drives. The ATI card worked 95+% of...

RAID, Windows 2000 and ICH9R by Aidan Whitehall
I was going to buy a Gigabyte GA-EP35C-DS3R but noticed at the last minute that the page for that motherboard http://tw.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?ProductID=2740 says: === begin quote === "Duo to chipset limitation, Intel ICH9R RAID driver does not support Windows 2000...

Gigabyte 8KNXP/8IK1100 Users: What memory actually works? by Aj
I just bought a Gigabyte 8IK1100 (aka the stripped down 8KNXP). It replaces my Gigabyte 8PE667, which died a slow-but-honorable death. Trouble is - I was hoping to re-use my two identical Crucial PC2700 CL2.5 333mHz 512MB DDR chips with this new dual channel board. Is that even possible? I've had...

New computer front panel wiring question. by Ajax
I purchased a CoolMaster Centurion 5 case from New Egg to build a new computer. I am using a Gigabyte GA-P32-DS4 motherboard. There are two wires in the Centurion 5 with separate connectors that are not labeled. They are white and green and they are twisted together. It was my guess that they...

XP can't find hard drives to install by AKA gray asphalt
When I try to install XP the setup says that it can't find any hard drives. The CD is on IDE 1 and the drives are on IDE 2. One has an old version of XP that I want to delete. The instructions say that the CD should be on IDE 1.

I've got 2 1-gig sticks of memory. The post stops at mem when it should go to:memory 2 gigs, etc. I removed one of the sticks, same problem, replaced it with the other, no post. Do I have a motherboard problem? Could it be the Video card since the partial post shows up on the screen and it is so...

GA-8KNXP w/o NB Cooler by Alain Barthe
Since about a week the NB cooler in my GA-8KNXP has a problem: Whenever I turn on the system he make a loud noise for about 5 seconds and then becomes "silent" again. Obviously its broken and I have read that this is not uncommon with Gigabyte NB coolers. Now I'm pondering my options and I have to...
