black streaking on HP 8500 / 8550 Color Laserjet by Rick Kovalcik
Does anyone know off-hand if black (excess toner) streaking on a HP 8500 / 8550 (it's the same engine) is due to the imaging drum, transfer drum, black toner, or blue toner? The only reference I can find (google) seems to say it is the blue toner. I'm talking about the type of problem you get...

Which printers are refillable / resettable counters? by Richard Ferryman
My old Epson Stylus Photo 810 has finally failed (beyond repair) and I need to replace it. The SSC service utility allowed me to refill inks and reset the counters with excellent results. I am now looking for a replacement but not sure which way to go as recent models do not work with SSC...

Monitoring ink levels: Lexmark Z 2390 by species8350
Hi, There appears to be no way for me to monitor the ink levels in my cartridges. Has anyone found a method with the Lexmark Z 2390 printer? If not, is there any freeware that I can download that will give me the information?

Epson is stopping non-Epson ink sales by Frank Arthur
Epson managed to stop delivery of non Epson ink from a supplier in Canada. If Epson prevents me from buying less expensive inks I guarantee I will never again buy an Epson product again. How do you feel about it?

R200 after maket ink by NotMe
We have a number of R200 and R220 printers we've used for years. Seems there is no longer a supply of aftermarket ink cartages for these printers. What's up with that? Is it a temp or permanent situation?

R1800 metamerism by Guillaume Dargaud[_2_]
Hello all, I've had an Epson R1800 for a while and been happy with it. I use it regularly (almost daily) but in recent times I didn't print any pictures, only text on standard paper. And now, after a few months, all my photos have metamerism problems. Now the gloss enhancer should take care of...

Epson 4800 and 4880 Printer Margins. by Bob AZ
FWIW I have now found out why the Epson 4800 and 4880 printers have a mandatory 1/2" margin on one side of a cut sheet. Probably applies to other Epson printers as well. It seems that the sheet is picked up, fed and held, by holding the sheet with rollers, until the last 1/2" of paper needs to...

hp c6280 ink pump problem by Marvin Moss
I have replaced all the cartridges (02) with new cartridges but the Cyan and Lt Cyan do not print at all. I have taken apart the printer and see that the pump is working but I do not see how to test to see if the ink is getting to the heads. Does anyone have any troubleshooting hints for this...

I have an HP Laserjet 4 that has begun to print too lightly. I have changed the cartridge but it hasn't helped. I also have a HP Laserjet 4plus, so I put one of the cartridges that was in the 4 into the 4plus and it prints a lot darker, it looks good. Can anyone tell me what I should do to get the...

Video of CIS installation by Jan Alter
I'm probably late viewing this thing for how long CIS units have been around, but found it interesting. No, I don't even know the company and am hardly endorsing the product. http://www.efillink.com/InkSystemPro.html#R1800 -- Jan Alter
