I'm builing a system with an Asus EN8600GT/HTDP/512M. The CPU is an Intel Q6600. My question is this: The 8600GT does not need an extra power plug but the 8800GT does, why is this?

I am trying to output to S-video on this card. I can't seem to get it to work on my tv. I have the input on the TV correct.
