GX270 Problems? by
MB
Is anyone else having motherboard problems with the GX270s?
We've gotten in 11 of these units over the past couple of weeks. One was DOA. Two
more failed within a couple of days - one in a dramatic smoking death dive after
just 45 minutes of operation. Dell has replaced the motherboards and CPUs -...

SB 0220 digital 5.1 drivers help by
Shep©
I don't have a Dell system but I've unfortunately bought an OEM SB0220
card which I understand now from google searches is not a,"True"
Creative labs card.
With the supplied Creative Cdrom drivers disk the card does work to a
the most degree in win98SE and XP but I would like to try the...

GX110 Tower motherboard suggestion by
Richard
I've got a GX110 mini-tower that was just fried in a power surge, and
since it looks like the power supply, m'board, CPU, RAM and disks are
all toast I may as well buy some new internals and reuse the case.
I'd probably go with a P3 since I imagine P4s are still overpriced;
does anyone have...

Inspiron 1100 and CD-ROM not RW by
Tim Miser
Maybe it is because the 1100 has no floppy drive and a CDRW would be the
only way to put a file on a disk from that computer.

Upgrade: Latitude CPi-A by
Anthony Perez
Is there anyway to upgrade the 300Mhz CPU in this machine to something a
little more
faster? I'm sure Dell won't give any suggestions, other than getting a new
machine :)
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Memory question by
r
I will be buying a Dell computer soon and I still can't figure out the
memory.
When it says: 256MB Dual Channel DDR SDRAM at 333MHz (2x128M)
Does that mean it will take up 2 memory slots? 128mb in each slot?
Also, on the Dimension 2400 -- it only has 2 memory slots total?
On the Dimension 4600,...

Harvested
I've never had a flat panel display before and it seems to run considerably
warmer than the CRTs I'm used to. That is, if I gently touch the screen,
its noticeably warm. The top is considerably warmer. Is this normal?

double and single sided ram question by
- Bobb -
How about going to DELL.com and just entering your serial number.?
It will show you your config as it was sold.
Or call them up and ask.
Or try the dell newsgroup (which I included in the header)

Screen cleaning on I8200 by
BD
Hi folks,
Anybody have a proven recommendation for cleaning the Ultra display on a
I8200?
After 6 months mine needs something else besides dusting with an anti-static
cloth.
It's not too bad, but would like to get it as spotless as possible
again...without ruining it!
Thanks,
