[email protected]
There are three AMD A10-5800K Socket FM2 CPUs((APU) being marketed,
one of which (the third, below) is said to handle Windows XP, and
the others (the first and second, below) apparently will NOT The
first two may in fact be the same model CPU, but I don't know. I can

Problem with resolution by
martin lynch
I have a pretty old notebook (6 yrs old), with integrated graphics
card. Apparently it's an S3 Twister K.
I hooked it up to a widescreen LCD that is capable of 1366x768
resolution. However, when I run the monitor, my computer's setting
will only go to 1024x768 at best. I installed the drivers...

Ink jet printers by
J. Yazel
I need a pointer to a fairly simple description of how ink jet
printers work (specifically the inking process).
It seems to me that every time the printer starts up, it
would seem that an application ink is sprayed on the
printing mechanism.
For very low-volume printing (e.g. a home user that...

emphasis on the items that will actually make a significant difference to...

Beep code sound familiar? by
smackedass
Hello,
I just put a Biostar M7NCD Ultra into a "generic" (Acer type, but not Acer)
case. It appears as though everything is plugged in properly, but...
When I go to power the machine on, it does, initially, but very briefly;
then it powers off and lets off this constant beep code, that goes...

P4 APM functionality by
[email protected]
Hi
I am using a P4 box running VxWorks RTOS for a simulation application.
The simulations went out of sync when the APM (power mgmt) bios
settings kicked in after 15 minutes and turned off the screen display.
I disabled the APM and all is fine now. But I was wondering, how does
really the APM...

I was given a "new" computer that has the floppy drive in the primary IDE
slot and the DVD and CD drives in the secondary IDE slot. My current
machine is IDE and for now I want to put my hard drive in the newer machine
until I get a SATA drive. Can I just put the current hard drive in the...

Wireless Question by
Jim T.
I want to set up my laptop for wireless. It would be great to have the
printer located at the router. I have no other computer.
Is there a good, reasonable, 802.11g combo wireless router and
printserver? Reviews of the only one I found (SMC) are really bad.

Monitor Problems by
Simon Argent
Hi,
Recently I rebooted my computer having installed some Windows Updates. When
my computer came back up, the screen had moved itself slightly to the left.
Naturally, my first instinct was to correct this using the monitor options
however, I have found that 2 of the butons are not working (they...

Possible Failing PSU? by
Dan Ricketts
Hi All,
My Dad's having problems with his PC, which I think are being caused by the
PSU, but am not 100% sure.
Basically the machine will run for a short while (10-15 minutes tops) and
will then cut out, not allowing it to be powered back on until the line cord
is removed from the machine and...
