X58 and UEFI bios's by Jim
Can anyone shed any light on what the score is with Gigabyte X58 chipset boards and if they come with UEFI bios (not worried about GUI, just booting from drives larger then 2.2TB) or is this just for the newer Sandybridge stuff that has it? TIA

X58 BOOT by Stephen Russell
My x58 has an odd behavior, of power on, power off, pause, and then POST. It only happens if you change BIOS settings. I changed my memory settings to extreme, 1.65v, and a multiplier for 1600. Is something wrong? I emailed Gigabyte support on the POST issue AND NEVER GOT A RESPONSE. If you get...

XP can't find hard drives to install by AKA gray asphalt
When I try to install XP the setup says that it can't find any hard drives. The CD is on IDE 1 and the drives are on IDE 2. One has an old version of XP that I want to delete. The instructions say that the CD should be on IDE 1.

XP Installation on a GA8I915 Duo-A by [email protected]
Bought this board about 6 months ago from Newegg. I Installed XP Home on it with no problem. Then, the sound's "magic jack" control panel started reassigning my 5.1 speakers to other jacks. I upgraded the bios to F5 hoping that that would fix the problem. Nope - so I plugged in my old Audigy...

XP Pro: 90% of applications go into 'not responding' state by Jason
Hi all, I am baffled by this. Every so often, around 2-3 times a day about 90% of the running applications go into a 'not responding' state but the PC is not hung. I can still start Task Manager and launch new applications (although they soon hang after launch). If you wait 5-10 minutes then...
