Fan behaviour on XFX 8800GT 512MB 'Alpha Dog Edition' by
Patrick Vervoorn
Hi there,
Yesterday-evening I installed an XFX 8800GT, 512MB, 'Alpha Dog Edition'
into my brother's PC. All is working well, and he is enjoying the new
speeds immensely (he had a 7600GT/256MB before this).
However, there is one little nag: the fan on this card is making quite a
lot of noise,...

Resolution Problems by
[email protected]
Hi all,
I have an older pc in my bedroom. Use it mostly for browsing the
internet. It had a ATI 9600 Pro video card which died.
I picked up an Nvidia GeForce FX5200 for pretty cheap (since I only
need 2D graphics). I tossed it
into the machine and it works at every resolution except the one I
want....

NX88000 GTS problem by
playstation60[_5_]
I recently received a NX8800 GTS graphics card from someone. It's by
MSI, if it matters to anyone. Along with the card I received a couple
of computers, one of which has the required PCI-Express slot to run this
graphics card. I plug it in and the card emits the loud, annoying tone.
The fan on...

Motherboard looks fried. by
Skybuck Flying[_2_]
Hello,
The old motherboard which is probably defective looks fried.
I have two explanations for this:
1. The dual graphics cards 7900 gtx fried the motherboard... possibly
because of too low airflow to them.
2. The led connectors weren't properly attached, maybe caused electrical

Hi All
I am in the market to buy a new Quad CPU and a motherboard and was
looking at a SLI board with a couple of nVidia graphics cards.
When shopping around I found that many of the new boards with multiple
PCI-e slots are for Crossfire Technology and ATI graphics cards and
AMD processors.
I am...

CHIPZILLA SHOWED A DEMONSTRATION of Ray-Tracer on its latest

us.
Who knows, maybe in a year CPUs might be good for graphics again.

gabbey
I've acquired a Dell OEM video card, 128MB nVidia fx 5200 AGP, P/N:
128A8N305A
It has a burned surface-mount resistor just behind the SVGA connector at
the top edge (of connector.) It's also very close to a toroidal coil mounted
nearby. There's a number just legible stamped on it which looks like...

EVGA says to return my 7900GT KO for RMA. Do you agree? by
John Adams
I have the infamous corrupted screen issue on my 7900GT KO and Vista.
Have also noticed this issue in some games on XP too. But I can alt+tab
in XP games and the screen comes up clean again. I contacted EVGA about
it and they said to do an RMA for a replacement. Thing is that I have
seen people...
