GA7-VAXP DIMM order & Windows XP pro by
Ian James
I'm running Windows XP Pro on this motherboard with an XP2500+ (Barton)
processor at normal speeds (not overclocked in any way).
I had 512MB of PC2700 RAM and thought I'd upgrade to 1GB. I bought another
512MB DIMM, also PC2700 but obviously not the same make. I installed it and
ran Memtest86...

8KNXP and Geil 512 mem by
ralford
The Geil 512 paired modules are very attractively priced ~ $220 for 1G 3700
sets. The CAS etc settings are not the most aggressive, however, it appears
the FSB speed is more important than the memory settings, at least for
performance.
Has anyone had any useful experiences with the Geil? At...

System Shutdowns (GA-7VT600-L) by
Mr. Anderson
No matter what i have done to change the system(power, ram, hard drive)
whenever i try to run a program like pcmark or 3dmark the system just turns
right off. The screen goes black, makes these unusual deep beeping noises
and then shuts right off. I used to have a 300w and upgraded it, but...

Made my own NForce2 IDE "driver" for Windows 2000 (do you dare?) by
Martin Eriksson
I got bored with the "Standard Dual PCI IDE Controller" in Windows 2000, so
I put together two INF files by combining stuff from the Intel INF files
(which basically only installs the standard pci ide driver with another
name) and from some of the nForce 2.45 drivers. The result is this...

Does the Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro 2 not unlock the CPU...? by
Morgan
Hello
Just installed a Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro 2 and all seems fine except...
With my Abit NF7-S it will unlock the CPU (I only assume this is the
problem) and allow me to use all the multipliers.
But the Gigabyte board does not allow through the bios, can't find it (CTRL
and F1 reveals nothing),...

MAC Chip, WHat is it? by
Hervey Cleckley
Ever since my Nforce LAN (GA7N400) died I'm doing some investigating.
Aparrently there is a MAC chip in the Nforce (aside from the RTL8201 LAN
chip that is near the CD_IN.
The RealTek site says that this is probably the problem as the 8201 requires
no drivers. The MAC chip does. Perhaps this is my...

I am using a GA-7VAX with the built-in sound, connected optically to

Could anyone tell me the recommended "sound hardware" choices for GTA3?
Thanks!

8KNXP and HT by
Tim
Hi,
My 8KNXP system shows only 1 CPU in Task manager, yet 2 CPU's in Device
Manager - the CPU is a P4 2.8c.
HT has always been enabled in the bios, so I am curious if this is working
correctly as it does not appear to.
Bios is F5.
Does anyone have any ideas?

GA 7VKMP by

Installed a XP2200 and Vcore is 1.690 and suppose to be 1.65. How can the
Vcore be changed to the spec voltage for the processor?
This board is a replacement for a fried VKML. The VKML recognised the 2200
properly with the specified voltage 1.65.

Gigabyte GA-8IG1000-MK & Old Pentium 4 by
maxyms
Hi,
I'm a gigabyte fan for a long time, and I just purchased a GA-8IG1000-MK
µATX motherboard.
I also puchased a Pentium 4 2.6C, but didn't received it yet. So to test the
motherboard, I put an old Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz into it, but it didn't boot up
at all !! There is even no video signal, so I can't...

Gigabyte GA-8IG1000MK & memory CMX512-3200LL by
maxyms
Hi,
Following my previous post,
After looking around on the newsgroups, I found that it may be because of
the RAM.
The Corsair CMX512-3200LL (XMS Low Latency) may not be supported until I
flash the bios with the latest revision.
So I need to find some other RAM to be able to boot up, flash the...

Will this be a good GA-7NNXP? by

I am looking at building my first Gigabyte system. I have built Soyo systems
before, but have read good reviews on the GA-7NNXP board. The system will be
used for CAD (SolidWorks). I am looking for a rock solid system with plenty
of memory and fast I/O. This system will not be Oc'ed. It just has to...

Second version of homebrew 98/ME/2K/XP nForce IDE INFs available by

These are INF files which enable the MS driver for Standard PCI IDE
controller to work with the nForce MCP2 IDE controller. I take no
responsibility of anything that might happen to your computer when using
these.
It should work for 98/ME/2K/XP but is only tested on W2K and also got a
positive...

8KNXP and Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu CPU Cooler by
Tim
Works a treat exactly as Bob says.
Quiet? Definitely.
If you want the DPS in, remove the fan - it runs cool anyway.
Also, consider removing the fan for the nortbridge chip.
If you want, put a zalman nb32j on the northbridge *during* assembly for
better cooling.
With a digital sensor on the outside...
