FSB question by Ken Ruppel
I'm almost sure this is a dumb question. I'm still on an Athlon XP1700+ (w/ an Asus A7V266-E), but I believe that I need a bit more octane because things are slowing down to a level of concern. I believe the XP2600+ is the highest CPU that is FSB 266. However, there are also XP2600+ with FSB...

Sempron 2400+ Settings by needtooknow-basis
Just met one of these things for the first time. By default, shows as XP 1000. Clocked up to show XP2000 and still stable with temp of 40C. Simple question, where should I leave it without contravening the manufacturers settings? Doubt if it could be as simple as 2400 because the XP...

1.33 Athalon - Safe Operating Temperature? by whozix
I rebuilt a system on a new FIC AU-13 motherboard, reusing my older Athalon 1.33 CPU. I purchased this OEM chip 3 years ago along with an AMD - recommended Coolermaster heat-sink & fan. When I did the rebuild, I lapped the large aluminum heat-sink to a fine finish, using 2000-grit sandpaper...

Hi, sorry in advance if this is the wrong newsgroup. Is there any way I can find out the model number of my Athlon XP2000, with regards to it being a '6' or an '8'? I ask because I'm getting a new motherboard, and the people who built my pc for me can't find out what the model number is. Its...

1.8 Duron vs XP2000 by Rob
I have just bought a XP2400 and was going to stick the XP2000 in our other PC which has a 1.8 Duron in it. Silly question coming up... Which is better, the duron or the athlon? I know the athlon is only running at 1.67Ghz but is it worth swapping them over? Regards Rob
