"Ethical" Printer? by ~misfit~[_16_]
I've just junked yet another inkjet printer for parts (PSU mainly) and, as with the last one I see that there is more ink in the silicone tubes that go to the waste sponge and dried into the sponge itself than ever went onto paper during the ~2 years and ~3 sets of carts. How do they get away...

I looked at the specs http://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/Lenovo%20Laptops/Lenovo%20G50/Lenovo_G50_Platform_Specifications.pdf and it mentions SSHD with 8GB NAND flash memory. 1. Will any 2.5inch SSD work with the Lenovo 50-45 model 80E30181US laptop? 2. Is any brand like Western Digital...

My buddy needs a new laptop, his is over 6 yrs old, runs out of RAM and slows down often, and crashes when more than 2GB RAM is installed! A computer shop spent 2 hrs with him trying to install more RAM, then get it working again when it crashed each time. Due to its age we think it's smart to...

Beep codes by Bill Cunningham[_2_]
Does anyone know anything about BIOS beep codes? Someone gave me a computer and it doesn't do anything but beep so many times. That sounds to me like a BIOS problem. Would that be easy to fix?

WakeUp Noise by SteveGG
About 2 out of 3 times, when waking out of a sleep state over night, I get several seconds of a sound, like something winding down. After, everything is normal. Happens only after an overnight sleep. During any other time, no sound. Sounds for all the world like something mechanical, but fans...

Various Problems with Dell Lattitude D820 by Se7en[_2_]
Now, I have previously posted about my old laptop losing the torque in its hinge. Now I have an assortment of new problems and I don't know if it is the time to get a new one or just replace some components. I should probably tell you some major things about it. In July, I spilt a Coke-a-cola on...

Kodak Hero 3 Printer Trouble by [email protected]
I love this printer. Now suddenly it only prints grey, whether color or b&w. I put in new cartridges - same result. Anything I can try? I'd sure like to keep the printer. Thanks JW

What USB devices work through passive hub? by micky
What USB devices should work through a passive hub? My old laptop had 3 USB ports but I needed at least 4. I assumed that it was better to copy files to a flashdrive without putting a hub in the middle. Same for my USB speakers. OTOH, my mouse and keyboard xmit so little that I figured they...

Laptop Hinge Problem by Se7en[_2_]
I have an issue with my hinge. I have a Dell Latitude D820 and randomly the hinge has lost its tork. The screen is loose and falls down unless I prop it up. I opened the chassis and see that the physical hinge looks alright but it seems that the frame of the monitor in which the hinge goes into is...

Is there a hardware limitation to prevent 4 monitors (distributedacross a Radeon 6850 and a V4900)? by Ash[_5_]
I have a PC with 3 multihead graphics devices, but I'm unable to have more than 3 monitors at once. I'm using a P8H77-V motherboard. It has built-in Intel HD graphics (display port, DVI, HDMI). This seems to work (although I don't really plan on using it). I've got an AMD FirePro V4900 plugged...
