Any way to wipe this drive? by

I have a 120 GB hard drive that my RAID controller encountered an
error with, so I am trying to wipe it and return it to the
manufacturer. But when I use Copywipe to wipe it, Copywipe encounters
an error at 52%. It asks me if I want to continue, and I enter Y, but
then Copywipe freezes the...

RAIDING different size drives by
Sydney Lambe
I want to mirror 2 disks mirror using RAID.
Can this be done on a 750GB and 500GB disk?
It's a single user desktop running XP with RAID provided by a PCI card.
Might change the mobo to one with RIAD if it's better?
This is for editing audio. Don't want to lose audio work if a disk fails
so...

Seagate Barracuda 160 GB IDE becomes corrupted. RMA? by
Dan_Musicant
Part number: ST3160023A-RK
Bought 08/13/2004 online at outpost.com, and it still has almost 4 years
on the warranty. I've never lost a HD before, although I RMA'd one that
was getting bad sectors 6 months after purchase. I've had over 10 HDD's.
This was working perfectly, AFAIK and suddenly a...

Portable ext. HDDs without power AC? by
Ant[_3_]
Hello.
I know some people prefer to use portable external HDDs, with their
power AC connection enclosures or adapters, for reliability and
stability. Some people prefer those tiny HDDs with only their USB
connections for both power and accessing data (easiest and lightest).
Are there any...

(A) My music is mainly on two or three 160 GB drives. Much of that
can be replaced.
(B) I have also got XP on a 15 GB system partition.

4 GB RAM-based NAS by
Shailesh Humbad
With inexpensive PC components, it's possible to build a 4 GB network
attached storage device that is entirely RAM-based for about $700.
Would people find a use for a box like this?
The specs:
Mini-ATX Case
4 Gigabytes of DDR SDRAM
Gigabit Ethernet
Appears as a Windows network drive.
