Cannot install over 3GB on AW8 Max (meant to support 8GB!) by

I have four 1GB memory modules (GEIL PC5300 667MHZ latency 3,4,4,8) and an Abit AW8 Max motherboard, with a Pentium D 2.8GHz CPU.
I can install any 3 of these memory modules into any 3 of the slots, and it works fine.
If I install all 4 at once, I get POST code 4E on the motherboard's POST code...

I have just installed a new NF7-S motherboard in my system. Every time I
shut down my computer won't power back up unless I disconnect the power
supply and re-connect it first. I tried to see if there was a bios setting

2 x 512pc3200 twinmos m-tec ram
nf7s v2.0
running at default values for bios apart from:
200mhz fsb x 9 (for 1.8ghz)

KD7-S fails to boot to POST by

I have just bought a Abit KD7-S, PC2700 memory(512MB) Gainward GeForce
FX5200 graphics card, 450W PSU and AMD XP2600+ FSB333 processor.
The only time I get to the POST screen, ie the monitor light is green,
not orange) is when I erase the BIOS. It comes up with several
messages :

BIOS Problems by

Try taking the ram out and booting.
Of course it shouldn't boot.
But then turn it all off, and put ram back in. See if it resets itself
to 266.
Or you may have a bad bios. Maybe you could re-flash it.
But that may cause more problems if it fails to flash.
Maybe put a different stick of ram in...
