Hey guys
An older board, I know, but it's a cheapo upgrade at the moment.
Is anyone using the KT7A with a locked 2400XP (T'bred-B)? My revision 1.1
board didn't like it, but the revision 1.3 does and even says it's a 2600XP.
Running at 16x133, with no problems so far.

ABIT Driver causes problems....??? by

Have an NF7-S MB.
Running Windows XP.
When I load the NVIDIA Driver for the Sound from the MB CD (NV-1.23M),
I am unable to shut off the system via : START - TURN OFF COMPUTER -
TURN OFF. Trying to do that, the effect is as if I selected RESTART,
namely the system reboots and starts....

I've put off doing a BIOS up-flash of my BP6 until now due to no
special need- the original "LP" bios always accomodated system
requirements. Now I need support for a new 80gb IDE hd (not on
HighPoint). Also I have never flashed firmware before, so I want this
proceedure to be perfectly clear...

CPU overheat warning... by

Just got a new heat sink and fan (Arctic Cool). After I installed it and
turned on the machine I got the Bee-boop (CPU overheating alarm). Needless
to say, I immediately shut off the machine, checked the fan (it was running)
and the CPU (it was cold to touch). Very weird! I then reapplied...

Hi,
I bought the NF7-S2G motherbard a couple of months ago, but I never was able
to make it work properly.
First of all the BISO does not recognize the processor. I installed an AMD
Sempron 2600+/1.8GHz, but the BIOS show AMD Athlon at 1100 MHz. Why ?? And
what do I do about it ?

5.1 surround. connecting it to a kv8 pro 6-channel output.
i can only get the front right,centre and rear left speakers to work.checked
all the settings in the abit audio eq. all ok.
checked properties for the audio devices...all set ok(5.1...

Does anyone know what causes the memory test to continually loop? I can
hit escape and it will skip the test, but if i don't its slower than
normal and it will just cycle over and over. Any ideas?

The fan on my IC7-G Max 2 is going out. Factory fans from Abit are
backordered. Can someone please recommend a replacement fan.
It can't be any taller then the original because I have a large
Zalman Fan/heatsink on the CPU. It must work with a two
spring clips on the motherboard.

The sound on music CD's on my NF7 sounds crappy w/static etc. It seems
there are many complaints about this problems but all the fixes that I
read about have varied results. Has anyone found a sure fix for this
problem? Would it be better to just put in a separate sound card? I
