Michael Conrad
I am currently using a simple IDE drive and have some questions about other
methods. My mobo -7NNXP- has the capability to run SATA and/or RAID. The
question is: What is the difference in speed/stability from IDE to
SATA/RAID? I would like to implement these functions but would like to...

8KNXP Unstable by
Colin J. Paterson
I am getting random reboots on my 8KNXP (rev 2) board. I am also getting a
very strange effect where Windows XP looks to have hanged for about 5
seconds then the screen flashes black for a second and everything returns to
normal. I have a 350W Enermax power supply and I have a suspicion that...

it in, but so far the posts I have seen indicate nobody has gone over

So... has anyone put 4GB on this board and gotten it work work...

GA-6VX7-4X problem - 11 beeps? by
Jack
Hi all,
My system with a GA-6VX7-4X motherboard won't boot anymore - shut it down
after having it up and running for a longer period, but now it won't boot.
The system beeps once, seeks a floppy and checks my CD-RW and DVD drives,
and again beeps and seeks.
From other posts on the Internet it...

I'm thinking about buying

Power problem by
Michael Conrad
Having a problem with system. Upon pressing the power button, I get
minimal response. The CPU fan starts to turn, maybe 1/4 inch, then stops,
the RAM LED lights up and stays on, but the rest of the system apparently
has no power. Nothing else happens. I've seen this before on other systems
and...

8KNXP CDROM & DVD Burner at PIO mode by
Striker
My CDROM and DVD burner are set at PIO mode in the IDE/ATA controller. If I
change them, I can only get "Multi-Word DMA Mode 2"
Then they seem to be unstable at that setting. What does that setting mean?
I have never seen it before. On my older computer, I had them set at UDMA.
Why can't I get them...

Anyone tried the F12 BIOS for the K8NNXP? by
Drainpipe
I'm using the F9 BIOS now without any problems, but it does give an
odd "no drives found" (or something) message on bootup, even though I
boot fine to the SATA drive and have been running like a dream for two
months like this.
When I tried the F11 release, my SATA drive was finally detected...

Older BIOS for GA-686BXDU mainboard by
Dr. Erik Vogelsang
Is there a chance to get an older bios than the two versions still provided
by gigabyte?
Both F1 and F3e don't boot from SCSI-CD-Rom. I can't get Win2k installed.
So I would rather go back to version 2.6 (?) and do without ACPI support.
Where could I get that BIOS version?

Considering a K8N by
LBJGH
Well since most review don't show a huge difference in performance or in
overclocking I've decided on the K8N since it's fairly inexpensive.
Anything I need to worry about with this motherboard?
I'll be using OCZ pc3200el memory and a Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu Cooler.

4 SATA Drives on a GA-7NNXP by

I want to install 4 SATA drives on my GA-7NNXP. It comes with a

about it. When I install the card (with the power connector), any drive
attached to it does not show anywhere in BIOS. How do I enable this
controller? Any...
