Cpu cooler by
Don Murphy
I am putting together a AMD 64.I purchased a no OEM with the fan and
CPU. Years ago they had out a device you could change the 40mm fan on
the cooler with an 80 mm slower and quieter fan. Is this still being
done and if yes what is being used.
Thank You

Anu Comments on this ram by
Don Murphy
I have now received my K8NNXP and am now looking at ram. I have it
down to 2 Kingston Hyper x 3500 or Mushkin PC4000. Anyone use either
of these. I have used Mushkin in the past and their ram has always
worked well for me. I have never had to return 1 stick.
Thank You

GA7VAXP What does Top Performance really do? by
Don Wells
Can someone tell me what happens when I select Top Performance on the
BIOS setting screen? The manual only says make sure your stuff can be
over clocked. Am I to assume this setting will over clock my system
in some predetermined way? I assume optimal are the settings the cpu
and memory claim...

8ge667 dimm problem by
donkthemagicllama
I've got a rock solid system with an 8ge667. It's got a 512 DDR333 dimm in
it. I attempted to add another 512 dimm (same manufacturer... Kingston,
same speed, same timings, although it doesn't look identical... there's some
capacitors in different places etc.), and now my PC hangs before it...

Is higher DDR speed than FSB speed ok? by
Don[_15_]
My motherboard has a 533 mhz fsb bus and the
recommended DDR speed is 333 MHz (PC2700).
Will I lose on performance or damage anything if
I use a DDR 400 MHz (PC3200)?

Bizarre problem installing Windows XP on GA-7N400 Pro2 by
Doorg Reater
I have installed Windows XP from scratch after installing new GA-7N400
Pro2.
What is weird is that Windows "forgets" each driver instal. I will
install a driver, check that it works correctly, but after restart, it
will show this device as not having any driver installed. When I press
"Update...

Looks like my GA-7N400 Pro2 died by
Doorg Reater
Actually, it did not die but is badly crippled.
It worked fine for 30 days with Athlon XP 1800+ and 2x512MB DDR400
(Corsair Value Select). I ran the memory at 266MHz.
Last Sunday while working with Windows XP I suddenly got BSOD, and
since then the only way I could get the computer to work was...

Gigabyte Utilities Don't Work by
Dorado
Hi,
I just got a new PC with the 8IPE1000 Pro 2 MB.
1) The Giga Byte Face Wizard doesn't work. It just freezes up after a while
and a few minutes later says it can't read from a bin file. (I'm using a
logo from their own website)
2) Easy Tune 5 doesn't work. The CIA/MIB tab is grayed out and this...

Can't pair memory on GA-8PE667 by
dormouse
This board works OK with 1 256 Mb PNY DDR400 or 1 Kingston 512 Mb
DDR333.
However, if I fit either of these types in pairs, XP won't boot.
Each of the 4 sticks works OK on its own.
At boot the memory speed is reported as 333 MHz.
The CPU is 3.06 GHz 533 MHz FSB with hyperthreading enabled in...

Help Needed Installing Hard Drive into 7XRVP by
Double-T
Hi all,
I know enough about motherboards and hardware to get myself into
trouble, so I thought I would ask first. I think that one of my two HDs is
dying, and I want to install another as a backup. I installed a DVD+RW into
this system myself, so I'm somewhat familiar with the process.
I have a...

GA-6BXE Rev 1.9 Graphics card advice by
Doug
A friend of mine has a GA-6BXE Rev 1.9 based machine and is looking to
replace the existing Matrox G200 card with something with more memory
(to run Age of Mythology).
I have seen some warnings about GeForce cards, and I'm definitely not
up to making wiring changes to the motherboard!
Would a...
