Quiet replacement for A64 3000+ retail fan? by Lachoneus
I got an Athlon 64 3000+ retail (connected to an ASUS K8N-E board) with the stock HSF. It does a decent job of cooling, but it's kind of loud. I was surprised by how much noise it makes, considering it's a largish fan that only rotates at 3300RPM. Any suggestions for a quiet replacement fan? ...

Hi, i recently got a free upgrade of a amd 3200 64 90nm cpu from my normal 3000xp, and just as a tester i ran a 3dmark05 demo, i got 4400 before and now i'm getting 4150~. I've had to change the mobo, is some bios settings? It's just kinda weird, this was a gradual upgrade, as i did have a...

I've put a new release of sys_basher on the web, http://www.polybus.com/sys_basher_web/ I've added integer tests and a -memonly switch which will allow you to just run the memory tests by themselves. There are also some bug fixes for the Cygwin version. Sys_basher is a system exerciser that...

MB options? by Keith
Looking to build a new AMD system, using 939 socket. Probably will go with a dual-core CPU and 2 gig RAM. In the past I've always been I diehard ASUS fan, but looking at the ASUS message boards, I'm seeing stability and performance issues that worry me a little. Maybe all 939 boards have these...

Hello. 1st time poster. I have a quick question for the experienced. Are there any concerns with the 'standard' (ie Amd retail version) of the heatsink/fan that comes standard with this chip? I just purchased one from Newegg (along with a DFI Lan nf3, OCZ 2x512 Pc3200), and I want to know if I...
