Bad Compaq Presario 700 Hard Drive by Nathan Bump
Bought my compaq in sep of 02 and had no problems until the warranty expired (typical, right?) From then on I've had to re-format it 3 times and could never leave it on more than a few hours at a time with no activity or it would crash. What I'm faced with now is getting a new hard drive, but I...

proliant 500 and duplexing kit by Fabio
Hi. I have found some weeks ago a proliant 5000 with dual PPRo200, 128M, 4 disk 2.1 gbytes and a duplexing kit. I'd want to eliminate this kit and return to standard scsi configuration, but removing the board installed on the back of the disk backplane is not sufficient In fact the on board...

Proliant 4500 parts: The parts worth more than the hole? by Dan
Ok, when I posted the Proliant 4500 for sale, I got 3 e-mail's, and several postings. When I confirmed what the system had, they all disappeared.... So, my questions: Is there a particular part that people are looking for in a 4500, or just a lot of people asking questions??? Dan French

bad drive? by Doug F
Hi Folks, Lately my ProLiant 6000 has been giving a failed drive message. The drive will fail, but if reseated it shows up healthy on a reboot and prompts me for a rebuild. It will happily rebuild all green, then fail after a couple of hours. Nothing is showing in CIM except the failure...

Need a reliable server? These just keep going, and going.... ... I use one as an "on line backup storage" on my LAN. About ever month or so, I fire it up, backup the data to it, and shut it down again. When the power is off: It can't get a virus. It can't be hacked into. Hot swappable drives,...

Problem adding a new hard rrive to a Proliant 800 by Paul
I have a Compaq Proliant 88 with a single SCSI drive, running Novell 4.1.1 and the drive is out of free space. I purchased a new Maxtor 18 gig SCSI and put it in the computer. The BIOS recognizes the drive when it is booting up, and the Compaq utility correctly sees the drive, but after that, the...

Quick question for NutCracker... by NuT CrAcKeR
To the best of my knowledge, there is no USB hearders on that server. There is an easy way to check without a risk to your uptime: look at the back of the server. You should be able to make due with removing the USB support from the kernel and recompiling. Yes, you should have a 3200 or better,...

Old Software Question by NuT CrAcKeR
Does anyone know what happened to the Insight app called something like "Process Monitor" ? It integrated with the Event Notification Service, so you could tell it to watch a particular image name (process name) and then have the notifier hollar at you when it changed states ? This was an awsome...
