GA-5AX rev 4.1 memory by
A.R.Mills
Reference the GA-5AX mainboard;
The manual says this board will take 256MB modules (max. total
3x256=768) ECC or non-ECC RAM.
I am trying to use 256MB sticks of ECC PC133 ram but I just get the
'can't find memory' bleep at switch on. (I had the memory checked
professionally and it is OK)
I've...

Hi all,
I am trying to find the absolute CHEAPEST motherboard models from
Gigabyte and Asus that fulfil the below criteria. If they are
obsolete, but still available that's no problem!!:

2. Onboard LAN (1GB)

6VX7-4X Max Hard Disc Size by
Acedrew
Has anyone out there got a 120GB drive to run on a 6VX7-4X Board and, if so,
using what BIOS?
I'm told the Gigabyte site mentions the old 75GB IBM works, so there is hope
that 120GB should be OK!
TIA

Disappearing SATA drives on GA-8KNXP ? by
Ackk
I too had the same problem using ICHR5 and 2 Seagate 120gb SATA in
RAID0 with F5 BIOS. I called Gigabyte today and the tech I spoke with
said he knew what was wrong, that it was a known issue, and he emailed
me BIOS ver F6k which he said wasn't on their website yet. I flashed
the BIOS and now the...

XP Installation on a GA8I915 Duo-A by
[email protected]
Bought this board about 6 months ago from Newegg. I Installed XP Home
on it with no problem. Then, the sound's "magic jack" control panel
started reassigning my 5.1 speakers to other jacks. I upgraded the
bios to F5 hoping that that would fix the problem. Nope - so I plugged
in my old Audigy...

Mic and 8ik1100? by
[email protected]
That AC97 audio Configuration Application that comes with the board can
NEVER detect what is plugged into what, therefore my Logitech headset
will not work.
Is there a way to just disable the damn thing and let pink = mic, green
= speakers, and blue - the headphone jack?

Memory Timing on GA-8ik1100 by

With an Award bios, where do I go to change the memory timing? Iadded
another gig via two 512meg DIMMs and I have errors. Using memtest86
1.65 when I have just the ONE stick in, it is OK - no errors. With two
of the original sticks in plus the one upgrade - errors.
So I'm guessing the timings...

GA-8IK1100 with 4 * DDR 512Mb by

I'm having a few problems adding additional memory to my 8IK1100 based PC.
When I originally built the machine, I put 2 * DDR400 512Mb modules in it
(slots 1 and 4, running as Dual Channel).
I now need to add an additional 1Gb into the machine, so have tried adding
another two 512Mb DDR400 into...
