GA-7DXR+ Not Compatible with Windows XP and Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5? by
Mark & Mary Ann Weiss
Since June 15th, I have been testing XP Pro on this setup and have not been
able to get it to play video and audio off the Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5
timeline without stuttering. The audio drops out.
I sit this evening, struggling in vain to sync a separately-recorded audio
track to one video track,...

USB PORTS on 8KNXP REV1 ? by
Denis Fitzgibbon
Hi
I have a REV1 8KNXP Bios F10 and running XP Pro SP1 plus all the other
patches.
In my device manager under USB controllers I have 5 controllers listed but
only one
as a USB 2.
I was wondering should all the USB controllers be USB 2 ?
regards
Denis

RAID Settings in BIOS by
Si
I have a GA 8KNXP Rev 2.0 board and I noticed the other day that there are
settings in the BIOS to enable/disable RAID. Seeing as I don't use it, I was
wondering, if I disabled both the Giga Raid and the SATA Raid, would this
stop them appearing in the boot screens thus making the start-up...

IDE Channels question? by
BlackByrd
I can not get the IDE 2 connector to work properly.
I had planned to have IDE 1 connected to DVD rom, and IDE 2 to a Maxtor
250gb PATA drive, and boot off of the SATA using a Raptor 74gb drive.
Well first I installed using IDE 1 to DVD and the Raptor to SATA 0.
Installed fine, then I attached...

Disappering AC97 with BIOS F10 on 8KNXP rev 1.0 by
MuteMan
Hello all
After going from BIOS F6 to F10 (didn't try F7 to F9) Windows XP doesn't
recognize the AC97 sound device. Enabling/disabling it in BIOS doesn't
make any change. I have two Windows XP (PRO SP1) installations on the
machine and it is the same on both. It's like the hardware just...

Wrong temperature readings by
Gil-galad
Hi,
I have a 2500+ Barton at stock settings on a Gigabyte GA 7VT880 Motherboard.
The problem is, I don't know if my CPU is running too hot because I don't
know what the exact load temperature is. With Prime 95 the highest
temperature reported by EasyTune4 (whose temperatures are the same of...

Hard Disk there but not there by
GVW
I have a GA7VAXP motherboard. Running XP pro. HD happily running on IDE
channel 3 . I'm trying to add an extra HD to channel 4. (IDE 1&2 full with
CD's etc).
When I boot the raid BIOS recognises the drive, but XP doesn't. I can see it
listed in Device Manager which tells me it is working. But...

Has anyone able to use this BIOS? It didn't allow changing of bus
speed or any paremeters for that matter. I had to go back to F1

GA-7VT600 1395 Temperature sensors by
Wally
Is it normal for the motherboard to read higher than the cpu. At the
moment the motherboard reads 32C and the Cpu 26C
This does not seem right to me. This is in Everest info but it is the
same in Bios when read there, motherboard temp higher than CPU.
The other thing has anyone managed to run a...

Upgrade CPU and Memory in GA 8KNXP - Advice Needed by
Si
At the moment I have a P4 2.53MHz (533 FSB) and 1 GB of PC 2700 memory
installed on my GA 8KNXP Rev 2.0 mobo. I've been toying with the idea of
upgrading the CPU to a P4 3.0MHz (800 FSB) and the memory to 1 GB of PC 3200
to match the motherboards capabilities. What I wanted to know is, will I see
a...

Fan Speed by
AussieBob
I have a new GA-8S655TX Ultra Motherboard and the CPU (P4 2.8 Prescott) Fan
speed is showing in the low 2000 region. The Manual states around 4000+ in
their example. Everytime the screen changes I can hear the Fan (very noisy)
change speed. Should I be worried? It is the standard fan that came...

Problem: Switched from 8IK1100 v1 motherboard to the version 2 model? by
Joe Greenman
"Russell" wrote...
Is your onboard sound enabled in your BIOS? Also, the revision 2 board has
a newer 658 soundchip instead of the 655 chip on the revision 1 board. You
might be forced to do a repair install of Windows XP since you do have a new
motherboard and BIOS.
Yep, onboard sound...

Anyone using GA-VTXD with Windows 2003 Server? by

I can get Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Windows XP to install just
fine. Windows 2003 (different versions, different media, etc) always
hangs during the device installation phase.
My set up is:
2xPIII 800
1024 MB RAM (Kingston 256MBx4/PC133)
ATI Radeon 7500
Promise SX4000 RAID Card (RAID1 for...
