Updated my P5W DH from an E6600 to an E6850 by William

My PC is hot. Even with extra fan. Is there a way to make the CPU or bus speed go down when the system has been idle for a while (I know I can use suspend, but then I won't get new mail alerts, MSN msgs etc). -- Lars-Erik - http://home.chello.no/~larse/ - ICQ 7297605 WinXP, Asus P4PE, 2.53 GHz,...

I've just ordered an A8V board and 2 x 160GB SATA drives. If I want to use them as straight forward C: and D: drives, which is the best method to do this? Thanks. John Please remove "NO-SPAM" if sending email.

Does static electricity travel via metal only ? or plastics too ? by Skybuck The Destroyer
Hello, My question is: Does static electricity travel via metal only ? or plastics too ? The back of the pc has a metal (?) brace which is part of the motherboard. I touched it, and maybe could have damaged the motherboard that way.

P4t533 Max Ram by John Smith
Hi, I have 512 mb of RDRAM in an ASUS P4T533 running XP Pro with a P4-2.4 533 processor and ultra 160 X15 SCSI drives. I have had bouts of 'sluggishness' and high CPU usage at times, which I find is solved by re-booting and reloading what I am working on. I don't know if you can call me a...

After a series of problems (see history, below), this computer ran fine for several weeks. Then, a couple of days ago, after several hours of heavy use, when I exited a game,...

CPU goop question by Steve Conover
I am returning a defective mb, and all the components are back in their boxes waiting for the new mb. My CPU's cooling unit came with a thermal pad; (by design) it was squashed against the CPU when I installed it. When I uninstalled it, some of the squashed goop stayed with the CPU, the rest of...
