Updating Chipset driver by
Harryo
What is the correct method for updating the Chipset driver for use
with the Giga-byte GA-K8NXP-9 AMD motherboard?
I have downloaded two versions of the Chipset driver, one from the
Giga-byte website (ver.6.66) and the other from nVidia (ver.6.70 for
AMD).
Checking the 'Driver installation hints'...

Heatsink on bottom of mothboard - is this necessary? by
Gilgamesh
I'm looking at fitting a non Intel CPU cooler to my GA-EX38-DQ6 motherboard.
But all the ones I've looked at require the removal of the heatsinks on the
bottom of the motherboard.
Would removing these heatsinks have any impact upon the performance of the
rest of the motherboard?
Thanks

beeps. Would reset then repeat the beep codes.
Replaced power supply, video card, RAM (3 sets), nothing worked.
Ultimately the cause was the CPU. Intel Celeron D 336 that I had put
on to flash the BIOS with before I replaced...

Updating MoBo, what about XP..? by
Tim
On first boot, boot from the Windows XP CD and run a repair install.
Then install the mobo drivers, etc.
If you let XP boot without doing this first, things just may not work
correctly at all (IE really badly) - this is highly likely. So if you wish
to test the mobo with say memtest86, good, but...
