How to set TV out to component in Linux by
Chuck Forsberg WA7KGX N2469R
I have a 6200 type board on a Pentium 4.
The 2005 Nvidia XP driver allows me to set the TV out
to component video at 1080i.
The Nvidia Linux driver does not seem to allow setting the
TV output to component video, much less 1080i.
Is there a fix for this?

Is there a problem with this card and WinXP? I am unable to "pass" the
directx9 test with the card and with either the windows generic XP NVIDIA
driver or the 61.77 drivers. I can't get two of my grandson's games to work
either - MS Train Sim and Finding Nemo. The video display when these
programs...

If I select a cursor theme, say Bronze 3d, if I right click on a
window to get a context menu, the cursor moves very jerkily and
slowly. Also in games like HALO and Warcraft III or Sim City4, the

Any TV tuner cards that doesclosed-caption recording? by
cicada
I'm looking for a TV tuner card that allow me to record closed-caption
while recording a TV program. So I can see closed-caption when
replaying the video. Digital is even better. Should be PC based
instead of Mac. Do you see one anywhere? Thanks.

What is the minimum fps for games? by
cimetière
Hi!
I have seen lots of reviews of videocards and the results are usually based
of fps. Could someone tell me the *minimum* fps is required for not seeing
"lagging" in games, so that the game runs smooth? Also, when they say the
minimum fps seen was 6 (for sake of discussion), the maximum 60 and...

Forsa FX 5600 by

This card (Forsa FX5600 128MB) is on sale near me for
$119(CND).
I currently have a MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB. I'm looking
for some opinions on this upgrade. I am actually not buying
this card but getting it in trade for some consulting work
done for a co-worker. A review I read online said it...

rant
So what happened to nVidia? I thought when a *new* product
comes out it is supposed to be *better* than the one it
replaced. In doing more research I have found that my lowly
GeForce4 Ti4200 outperforms most FX's. The 5200 (IMO the
worst card since the "MX" series) budget card...

The Problem by

You know, the problem with bitching about the crappy
performance of the current nVidia line of cards is, do you
really think they listen? I bet there isn't one person who
is involved with nVidia that reads this newgroup. All you
are to them is a wallet with a computer. If they can make
more money...

MSI FX5600 XT VTDR128 problems by

Hey guys and gals, I picked up this card a cpl weeks back, and it works
fine as long as I use the nvidia reference drivers, and don't install the
capture drivers. If if I try to use the MSI drivers I get random reboots
even without the capture drivers. Anyone have any ideas?

8800 gts too slow... by
citizen513
Hi there, I just got a new GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB, and performance is
not satisfying,
I get about 5800 points in 3DMark06 in WinXP and it should be around
9000 points.
I got an AMD Athlon X2 5000+ processor and a Chieftec 400W power supply.
