Dual DVD/CD RW drives by
remichal
No doubt this question is old and has been asked too many times.
Since this is something I don't do on a daily basis I need some
help.
I have a Dell Dimension 5150 with a Philips DVD/CD RW drive which has
been a real dog. I just bought a new HP dvd840i and want to install
it as the primary unit...

Black Faceplate for BenQ DVD Burner? by
AFGH
I just got a rebadged BenQ 1670 dvd burner, but it only came with a beige
faceplate. The rest of the drive appears to be designed to be black
including even the drawer that comes out. Is there a place where I can buy
a replacement black faceplate?
Thanks.

type end. I understand that 5 meters (just over 16') is the max
length of USB cable before signal corruption occurs. I have a few
quick questions:
1. Does an "active" USB cable require some kind of power source? Does
it...

OEM supplers in Europe? by
Nick H.
Hi all.
I am in the process of building my first PC .. and have already got orders
from friends (on a non-frigging-profit basis, of course).
I have tried to source most of my components on the 'net, but realise that
if I am going to build several identical machines at the same time, it would

What would be a fair price? by
Larry Roberts
I was wondering what you would charge (if at all) for PC
repair work if you don't do it for a living?
I've been repairing, and building systems since 94' when I
tackled installing a 14.4K RPI chip modem into a Packard Bell 486 with
a built in 2400baud modem card, and no technical help except for...

What does everyone think is better; add a gig of ram or a 2nd NVIDIA 6800 to
run in SLI? (price is close enough for me to consider to be equal) I use my
PC for gaming, DVD/ CD burning, web, etc.
Do I have to buy the same brand and/or type of video card to run SLI. Is it
okay to use a 6800 XT with...

RAM Question by

My daughter just purchased a couple sticks of RAM for a computer that
currently is using PC-2100 DDR-RAM. The guy at the computer store sells
her 2 sticks of PC-133 SDRAM and tells her they're the same thing, but the
PC-133 will just run a little slower. I thought they were two different
things...
