Intel or Amd, best for power consumption? by
Albert Grennock
I am considering which to but.
One issue which concerns me is the power consumption, somoething
most people probably don't even think about when buying because
they think it is insignigicant.
Anyway a quick calculation, I am assuming my PC will be on about
16 hours a day on average (probablyon...

CPU fan problems by

Your computer CPU is it's brain......
Just as when riding a motorcycle, do you really want to protect your brain with
the cheapest product available?
Spend the money, get a good one. Your local computer store will be able to match
up a fair priced one with your CPU.

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro _dying_? by

It seems like my 9800 Pro is dying. The problems first started roughly
when I updated to Catalyst 5.8 drivers. Textures would simply start
disappearing or warping to really strange colors starting at around 10
minutes of gameplay. Quitting the game and reloading seemed to fix
that, but who only...

Videocards by

Hey guys I was wondering if I can get a bit of info. I am currently looking
at the XFX Geforce 6600GT and the XFX Geforce 6800. The only difference
between the 6600's is one has 128bit GDDR3 and one has 256bit GDDR3. The
plain 6800 however has 22.4GB of bandwidth. The 6800 is cheaper though...

DDR or DDR2 by
Pierre CHAUVEAU
Hello everybody,
In a review, I have read that at equal frequency, the DDR2 have a
transfert rate two times faster than DDR but in the same time, the
global performance of the DDR2 is just above the DDR one.
What about that ?
In France, the price of the DDR2 is just 10 to 15% above the DDR...
