DD sometimes not seen by CMOS by
Bill[_23_]
Hi
On a 7zx board sometimes the hard disks aren't detected by the CMOS at
startup. I must unplug the DD cables from the MB and restart the machine.
The cables are brand new.
Is there something to do to fix that pb ?
Thanks

another interface eSata for a future PC3...) so I could access it from one...

Can volatile RAM still contain evidence? by
GreenXenon
Hi:
Can informating stored in volatile RAM still be recovered after the
computer is turned off? I remember reading something on a forensics
website that the evidence is not only on the platters of the HDD but
also on the disk cache chips and the volatile RAM chips in the PC.
Even if the PC is...

New idea for fast bus by
Jon Slaughter
Not sure if this is the right group but oh well...
An idea to speed up busses. Take the PCI bus for example. It has 32-bit data
path. Lets increase it to 256-bit but group it into 8 sub-busses. Each
sub-bus acts as a PCI bus and a device can select which sub bus it wants. It
can be made...

USB vs USB2 cables by
Allen[_2_]
Does anyone know of a free progarm that I can run that will tell me if a
particular cable is USB or USB2? I have quite a collection, a lot of
which came packaged with various devices; a handful of cables are now
marked by the manufacturer as USB2, but that is a relatively new policy.
Anyone...

annoying usb problem by
badgolferman
My motherboard is USB 1.1 enabled and has a few USB ports available on
the back. The front USB ports have broken so I purchased a USB hub and
a generic USB 2.0 card.
I don't really know whether installing the USB 2.0 card gets me that
speed if the motherboard's onboard support is only USB 1.1...

USB Devices not recognizing. by
[B2TB]esc
Hi,
My USB's don't respond to any devices plugged in.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling them under Device Manager, but
still does not respond.
I've read that maybe updating my BIOS may help but I'm having
difficulties with that.

Schematic of Hard disc pcb by
borat.gunter
Hallo
one friend just plug the 4 pin power connector in the wrong way to her
hard disc.
It seems that the part which is used to protect the over voltage has
been burn-off.
I am gonna change the part which is "physical" broken and back up her
data.
i wrote down the label on the component as
