The messages appear in this group for such a short period of time that you would need to watch it 24/7 to catch your post and any answer, why ? Other groups seem to be able to leave a few days worth of posts why not here?

Restoring Epson Perfection 3200 Scanner Defaults by 3valve

During the preview phase - while the scanner is working - a photo is shown in correct colors. As soon as the preview phase is over and the frame is shown, the photo appears in ugly red/violet colors. I have already tried: 1. Installation of ScanWise 2.0.0.9 on a recently built XP system (i.e....

for archiving to a specific filesize: reduced TIFFs or full-size JPGs? by AArDvarK
You only need 300 dpi (dots per inch) but call it PPI (pixels per inch digital), which is more than enough for ink jet printing and just right for chemical photo printing. This will cut your sizes in half. The uncompressed tiff is perfect for color 'fullness' of an original, and the compressed...

I have diabetic neuropathy in my optic nerves, which is sugar crystals in there and that messes-up eyesight. But glasses do work fine to correct my vision. I seem to notice that my images (35 slides) look sharp under a loupe, then I scan them and they come up fuzzy! My older 6x7 positives are...

Minolya scan dual III by AAvK
I have noticed in my 'net research that this machine has a DMAX of 4.8 but also stated as "computed" in prenthesis, whatever that means. Is anyone experienced with it that can explain it? I know it relates to reading through film density and the_higher_the_better. But this rating seems to...

Suggestions on replacement for HP6100c by AdamB
In am having problems with my HP6100c (looking for a solution in another post). If I have to buy a replacement what would give me similar quality and scan speed. It seems to me many of the cheaper scanners available today scan very slowly, is this true?
