Ink refills by Andy Grey
Maybe this question has been answered before and someone can point me to a thread or FAQ or something: Is it practical to try to refill Hp ink carts? Does it work? Are they reliable? Do they produce output as good ad OEM carts? Regards, Andy

Real-world ink longevity test by TJ
I printed a copy of a one-page magazine article about my father for his funeral 13 months ago. The article included both text and a color photo. I used an HP PSC 2110 printer, Kodak Premium Picture Paper, and HP ink cartridges that I had refilled numerous times with aftermarket ink. Since the...

Epsons designed to stop?? by Mike
Hi - I just had this statement emailed to me by somebody who ususally knows about these things in a professional capacity: "Epsons are built to stop functioning when the internal counter reaches a certain number, and you do need to be aware of this. Many people aren't.!!" I find this very hard to...

Another anti Canon rant by birdman
Trying to convince myself for the umpteenth time that my investment in a Canon printer was not a big mistake I just created a set of prints using Canon's canned profiles and custom printer/paper profiles generated using a Monaco system for the Canon printer using Canon ink and Canon Photo...

Need advice on printer and paper by SNTP
I'd like to print a few hundred flyers at a time in my home office. They may include some photos, but nothing special. I'd like them to be 1/2 letter paper size and on heavy paper, like 64 lb. At this point I woild probably prefer an ink jet printer. I would appreciate very much any advise on what...

Need Help With Installing HP 950 PSC AllInOne by Jethro
Wouldn't you know it! I have a HP 950 PSC AllInOne (Print/Scan/Fax) that I want to install on a new machine with WXP SP2. I can't find the CD that came with it. I've looked & looked. I tried DriverGuide.com, but all they seem to have are print-drivers for this printer under the various OS's.

Canon i450 / i455 : Anyone else having replacement print head problems? by [email protected]
Hi, I have a Canon i455 (AKA i450, Pixma 455i, Pixma 450i.....) with a faulty print head. It worked fine for a while, then (through my own negligence, as far as I can tell), the black output dried up and ceased altogether. However, the colour-nozzle output was (and remains) fine. The problem is...

3rd Party Ink - PC World Excerpts by measekite
This seems to sum it all up! Of course the card carrying members of the AfterMarket Club will not agree with most of what is said here. :-) We found that third-party inks can save you money, and that some produce prints on a par with the output of printer vendor inks. But we also encountered...

The true cost of printing ink ? by Red Fox
Today I paid over $40 for two dinky little ink cartridges. I bet the empty cartridges cost no more than a $ or 2 to make, so why does the ink and refilling cost so much? It seems that the number of outfits refilling the cartridges is now becoming an epidemic. Maybe that will bring the price...

Epson printers - 2400 vs. 4800 ?? by Mark Anon
Aside from the obvious difference in print output size, what are the _real quality_ differences between the new Epson 2400 and 4800 printers? The 2400 advertises much higher 5760x1440 dpi printing, but the 4800 at 2880x1440 is listed as a "Pro" model. What gives? Both use the new K3 inks. TIA...

Buydig / Beech Camera by _R
I'm told that Buydig is a branch of Beech Camera. Are these reputable vendors for printers and cameras? They have good prices on the HP 1320 that I was considering. Any reason to avoid them? Thanks

Question re Canon iP1500 by Mary
Hi, I have a Canon iP1500 for the last year and so far its been working fine till last week. Its more of an all purpose printer and not a great printer but OK for me. Yes, your color printer is spying on you by SSW
EFF reveals codes in Xerox printers NEW YORK (AP) -- Just because a document from a color laser printer doesn't carry your name doesn't mean no one can trace it back to you, privacy advocates warn. The Electronic Frontier Foundation says it has cracked the tracking codes embedded in Xerox Corp.'s...

what's with my ink setup? by rb[_4_]
For whatever reason, everytime we put one ink, out of a set, in my Epson CX9400Fax the other inks don't "recognize" it. Therefore, we have to put in all four cartridges together, and everything seems fine. What's going on with this? Why can't I change a single cartridge???

Simplest and most reliable printer for an iMac? by John Brock
My siblings and I bought our 80-some year old mother a new iMac for Christmas, and her Epson Stylus Color 740 -- unsupported by Snow Leopard -- is now junk. So we'd like to hear recommendations for a new printer. We're not interested in speed or ultra-high quality photos or multi-function; we're...
