Hard Drive making Explorer crash by
Synapse Syndrome[_2_]
I have a 250GB drive that makes Explorer repeatedly crash when it is plugged
into the machine. Windows is completely unusable.
The drive does not seem to be making any weird noises at the moment, but it
was when I unplugged it, when I came home one night. It could have been a
head crash?
Is...

Where can I get this info? by
JimL[_2_]
I've been Googling myself silly and can't find the answer to a relatively
simple question. At least I'm pretty sure it's an easy question for
SOMEBODY!
I've looked to find out how you sell electricity back into the grid.
Hundreds of web pages will tell you something like, "Well you fill out...

OT-ish: PAYG mobile phone advice by
November 5
One of my mobile phones is used only for incoming calls. Only a
handful of people have the number and I do not know when they will
call. However, when they do call it is invariably important. The
number is not substitutable for the next two years as the people
(except as an emergency) who might...

Hello
I have just installed 2 TP-Link 1000bps TG-3269 NICs - replacing the 2
ADDON NIC1000Rv2 NICs.
From the Windows 7 PC to the XP Pro PC I now get 20MB/sec, and
from the XP Pro PC to the Windows 7 PC (both using Windows Explorer on
the Windows 7 PC) I get 36.9 MB/sec.
Both figures much better...

CD-DVD Disk Labels by
Dave C.
A while ago there was some caution about using stick-on labels for CD's and
DVD's in that they could have some effect on the data. I have some Avery
labels I wish to use on some backup data DVD's.
What is the latest opinion on the use of labels?
Also, what is the latest opinion on using felt...

Name brand computers are ace! by

I just bought a second hand HP P4 1.8 to replace my mother's computer. I
really love the way these companies reinvent things and make everything
proprietry and different, it's just sooooo convenient.
The first convenience was I had to replace the floppy drive but I can't

An undersized power supply? If it is overloaded, it might overheat
and shut down, and voltages might drop at the output as the overload
develops.
