A-B switch for Cat5 Network Cabling? by
ritter197
I would like to have an A-B switch for Cat5 network cable that would allow
me to switch between a "normal for me" installation of Westell 6100 modem
and LinkSys Wireless router to the computer or from the modem directly to
the computer, bypassing the router.
Does such a switch exist?
I have been...

Hi All,
About two years ago I had a hard drive go belly up on me. The stepper
motor was the problem. The disc inside the hard drive was OK. My IT,
at that time, told me that in about two years there would be a prouct

wet computer by
badgolferman
Picked up a PIII computer and monitor off the side of the road
yesterday. My neighbors say they worked before they put them out
there. However it rained that morning so the innards are wet. I
opened up the computer to let it dry out and it doesn't look wet
inside. The monitor I don't know...

Mouse Pad Designed For Optical Mice by
sugapablo
Got sick of choosing between mouse pads that didn't work with my optical
mouse and using my mouse without one (didn't feel right).

Power supply makes noise by
Sergio T.P.
Hi all.
I've bought a new 400 W power suply. It was supposed to be a silence power
suply. In fact, it is less noisy than my old one, but when I turn on the
compueter it makes a lot of noise... It's not a regular noise, like the
noise of a fan. It's some kind of tickling sound... In 3 / 4 minutes...

Old motherboard identification by
Snydley
I've resurrected an old Pentium computer from the early '90s, an old system
of mine that's been in the closet for a few years. I got it up and running
well, but it only has 64M of RAM in it and I would like to add more, if it's
even available any more. I'm trying to identify the motherboard so I...

Faulty Packaging/Handling of a motherboard? by

I bought a motherboard off Ebay. It arrived in a box, surrounded by
bubble wrap. The motherboard was not put in antistatic envelop.
What is the probability, in your opinion, that this would cause a
static charge during the shipping process?
