Slow shutdown after installing latest X-Fi and 7900 GTX drivers. by
Skybuck Flying[_3_]
Hello,
I was playing the closed and open beta of Company of Heroes Online and I
decided to install new drivers for the soundcard and videocard in my
computer to be fully up-to-date and maybe it would give some more
performance.
The drivers installed a

After watching this video the conclusion may be the following:
1. Contradictions are a problem in math.
2. These contradictions seemed to be caused by "self-references".

FX5200, should it be this bad? by
Red Activist
I recently made a P4 3.0 computer, the place was out of 5700 ultras so I got
a Geforce FX5200 128mb, I figured it would still be on a par or better than
the 2 year old TI 4200 I had in the previous system.
Imagine my surprise to see GTA3(old game with a 700mhz + 16mb D3D card
recommended) running...

OpenGL Application: FrameNumber for examining display monitors ! by
skybuck2000
Hello,
Today I wrote a simple Microsoft Windows opengl 3.0 application for inspecting frame numbers, frames per second.
I was wondering if maybe monitors drop frames like internet packets, maybe as a way to cheat. So far I also recorded some high speed camera footage with powershot hs sx50 or...

Still no gameplay. Could this be the problem? by
Ferrante
I recently purchased a new GeForce FX5200 in hopes of getting a game
to run. No luck. I meet the minimum requirements for the game (I have
a Pentium II, 400, 384 megs ram, small 6 gig HD) , so at the very
least the game should run, even though it may be slow. I make sure the
have the latest drivers...

What size PSU by
TheBoffin
I'm considering getting something like this
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?MBB-P5NQ66
Into i'll plug my ASUS EN8800GTX, a DVD RW drive, and 4 SATAII HDD's
I already have a rather nice 480watt PSU to hand if it'll be enough for
all that.
... so the question is what size PSU...

THE THRUTH ABOUT EVOLUTION AND THE CORONA VIRUS by
skybuck2000
I WANT YOU THINK ABOUT TWO SCENERIOS/CASES:
TWO SCENERIOS:
1. SEVEN BILLION PEOPLE ARE ALL IN ONE ROOM AND 1 PATIENT ZERO COUGHTS THEM ALL IN THE FACE.
2. SEVEN BILLION PEOPLE ARE ALL IN A SEPERATE ROOM AND THEY PASS ALONG THE VIRUS FROM PERSON TO PERSON.
WHICH CASE DO YOU THINK IS BETTER ?...

Aliens Vs Predator GE & Geforce4 MX 440 by

Hi,
Does anyone know of a fix for the following problem :
When I try to run AVP I just get a black screen and the computer stops
responding.
I have found that if I set my desktop to 640x480 (16 bit) the game will run
but only at that resolution.
If I try run the game in any other desktop...

Downside of changing "Max frames to render ahead"/"Prerender Limit" to 1/0? by
Jeremy Reaban
I just got Oblivion, and one of the listed tweaks to make it run better is
to change the Max frames to render ahead (or Prerender limit in Riva Tuner)
from the default of 3 to 1 or 0.
So I tried it. And it indeed appears to give the FPS a pretty sizeable
boost, from about 30 FPS to around...

I just found out when I was trying to visit its web site's forum. What's
a good NVIDIA web forum to post about Linux? I am having problems
