What is hagaki paper? by
Dot Net Developer
Bought a new printer. One of the paper settings is Hagaki. What is
this paper? What does it look like?
Also, I have some paper that is (intentionally) not smooth. I think
it may be called parchment paper, but I'm not sure about that. My new
printer doesn't have this paper type option, but it...

What's the oldest printer you still use these days? by
Ant[_3_]
My colony still uses a HP LaserJet 6P connected to a 2008 15" MacBook
Pro with parallel - USB adapter. I had to install Gutenprint's printer
drivers in Mac OS X (Leopard v10.5.8 and El Capitan v10.11.6) to use it.
I still have my HP PhotoSmart 8450 inkjet printer. They both mostly work
with a...

Someone please explain why this can't be done by
Ron
I have an external HP 4215 all-in-one printer. I use it for sending and
receiving faxes. I have other printers for photos and text. What I want to
do, is have the incoming fax sent to my pc to be saved and/or edited instead
of having it printed out by the machine. I don't care if it does print out...

Question re Canon iP1500 by
Mary
Hi, I have a Canon iP1500 for the last year and so far its been working
fine till last week.
Its more of an all purpose printer and not a great printer but OK for
me. Last week, I got a
new color cart, Staples brand which I use and it has always printed
photos fine. But they had a
little too much...

Yes, your color printer is spying on you by

EFF reveals codes in Xerox printers
NEW YORK (AP) -- Just because a document from a color laser printer
doesn't carry your name doesn't mean no one can trace it back to you,
privacy advocates warn.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation says it has cracked the tracking
codes embedded in Xerox Corp.'s...

Does old ohardware work with new oses? by
micky
Are color printers and a separate scanner, designed for win98, I think,
likely to still work with XP or later versions of Windows?
If so I would give them to a hamfest that could give them away at the
sponsor's table, or as part of the door prizes.
They are new, in the box.
(I know I could...

What's the trick to make Ethernet work on an HP 2100TN printer? by
Misha
In another thread, I mentioned a friend gave me a printer.
Here is a picture of the HP LaserJet 2100TN hooked up at my house:

The friend had it on AppleTalk (Macintosh), but I'm Windows
and Linux (XP and Ubuntu).
I plugged the printer into the router by the...

Lexmark CS410dn - flashing display by
Phil Reynolds
In recent weeks the display on my Lexmark CS410dn has started flashing
a lot - that is, coming up plain lit then going out, repeatedly, or
going out and relighting with detail on it.
Is there a simple cause for this? Something I could check and reseat?
Or, is there some underlying cause I could...

Overall reddish prints by
Satoshi
I am printing outdoor pictures on Canon i950 using Canon Glossy Photo Paper.
On screen, pictures were sharp and great. When printed, pictures were
reddish overall. Black stuff came out purple on prints. (All pictures
were taken with Sony 5 MP digicam.). I don't see any problem with...

Are we wrong to ignore Epson photo printers? by
Lady Margeret Thatcher
Up to now, "we" have been convinced that I should get a Canon photo
printer because we have been pretty happy with the results of the
Canon S520. Couple of clogs, but easily remedied by cleaning with
rubbing alcohol (the kind you get from the chemist that you can't
drink, for you Brits).
But "we"...

Non-Canon photo papers for PIXMA iP8500? by
tomviolin
I just purchased a Canon PIXMA iP8500.
Does anyone have any experience using inkjet photo papers other than
Canon brand in this or a similar printer? For example, Kodak papers or
store brands like Office Max photo paper?
I have found the Canon-brand papers to be more expensive with less
variety...

All printers stink by
[email protected]
What's up with printers these days? I've went through every brand and
they are all bad. No not the print quality, just the basic stuff.
I had a few nice printers in the mid 90s and ditched them for what I
thought would be improved printers. The main problems are the simplest
problems, to actually...

Epson printers are electronic theieves by
Dr. Dweeb
Gentlemen,
I have reached the conclusion that the Epson corporation is both incompetant
and corrupt. Someone should sue their scrawny little asses.
I have an RX500 - a high end combi-device.
Today, the reading on my black ink cartridge hit zero, while the other 5
read between 23-28%
I replaced...
