Worth it for difference? by
Neil Barras
Hi once again all,
Still pondering on a card for my rig. I have come across people who say
256MB in a card is a waste of money as it is never used and that 128MB iss
ample memory. Is this true? I won't touch Doom3, just some HL2 and a fair
amount of Counter Strike Source. I will use a few...

worth the upgrade? by

No. Start looking for places to buy the 6800gt or x800pro vivo cheaply.
One such is

Worth upgrading 5200 to 5600? by
Bobby
My daughter's PC is quite slow and I plan to improve it by giving her my
FX5200 gfx card. But my budget is tight so I'm thinking of upgrading my own
PC to an FX5600.
Is this wise? Please don't advise that I purchase an 5700 (or better) since
these cards are still prohibitively expensive in the UK....

Worth upgrading an GeForice 4 MX440 to FX 5200? by
Bobby
Is it worth replacing my MX440 (64Mb) with an FX5200 (128Mb)? I appreciate
that this FX is bottom of the range. But would it make any difference to my
graphics performance?
Cheers.

Worth upgrading from an XGI Volari Duo V8 Ultra to a GeForce 4 440MX??? by
The Black Wibble
Have rocks in your head? Think about getting yourself a XGI Volari Duo V8 Ultra -- a little longer than an
fx5950, has fx5800 accoustic qualities, slower than a 440mx in many tests, and provides plenty of additional
heating. But there's more!! Every card comes with set of optimised drivers...

Worth upgrading FX5900XT to GeForce 6800? by
wgd
I'll admit it. Now that the GeForce 6800s and GTs are becoming available
I'm getting the upgrade itch. My current graphics card is a Leadtek
5900XT at 400/700, which I've been very happy with. CPU is P4 2.4C.
The eVGA cards which newegg now has in stock include a copy of Far Cry.
Not only is it a...

would a 9----GX2 card run in a single slot PCIe motherboard? by
Gorby
Hi all,
This may be a silly question, but I don't know the answer.
I have a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R motherboard. This motherboard has only a
single PCIe slot. I currently have a 8800GT 640meg video card.
Would a 9---GX2 card run in this motherboard. I used to have an ASUS
motherboard with 2 PCIe...

Would buying an 8x AGP video card be over kill? by
Terry
My mobo has a 4x AGP slot.
Would buying an 8x AGP video card be over kill?
I am shopping for a reasonably priced card to make Quake 4 run better.
I have a P4 2Ghz with 1 Gig ram.
My current Gforce 2 doesn't do it for me anymore.

Would this work? (cooling 6800) by

I'm currently trying to quiet down my PC, and the noisiest thing now is my
Sparkle 6800 GT graphics card. I'm wondering if the following would work:
Disable and remove the on-card fan, install a 12CM fan right below the card
on a PCI slot. I'm not really concerned about the card running a...
