K8NF-9 ..SATA Drives.. How many? by
LarryBC
Hi, I'm running 2 SATA drives, a 250gb and a 160gb using 2 of the 4 SATA
connectors on the k8nf-9 mobo.
I have a removable SATA rack with another 160gb that I'm planning on using
as a backup drive.
When I installed the rack, I plugged the purple cable into the third SATA
slot.
When I just had a...

Memory voltage Crucial vs. Gigabyte's website by
WannaKatana
Crucial says the correct memory is 2.2v but Gigabyte says 1.8v. Do I
take Crucial's word for it? Does this have something to do with the
issue I've read about where one has to initially boot the memory with
1.8v memory, then increase the voltage in the bios, then install the
2.2v memory?
In short,...

965P DS3 Case Fans by
Whifferdill
There is only one system fan connection, ok, no biggie. But what
is the power fan plug for? My ignorance is showing..what is a power fan?
Also, using a temperature gun, my Northbridge heatsink reads
58 deg C, the Southbridge is about the same. Seems kinda warm to me.
TIA

965P-DS3 V1.0 by
Phil, Non-Squid[_2_]
My DS3 has begun this habit of switching the fans from full on to QST every
3 seconds. In other words, the QST will begin PWMing (my fan LEDs flash at
about 15Hz) for 2 seconds then the lights will go to full brightness for 1
second, then it will PWM again. I had to turn QST off completely...

965P-DQ6 + 7950GT will not allow me to change FSB settings. by
Wade
Hi, I have a very strange problem. My setup is an E4300, GA-965P-DQ6,
Leadtek PX7950GT 512, 2Gb of Corsair XMS2 ram (800/6400 and 5-5-5-12
timings) with a 500W PSU. If I alter the FSB or PCI-E speed at all,
even if I do not change it from default (200 and 100 respectively),
when I save the changes...

965P-DS3 (rev 3.3) by
Scott
Just installed a 965P-DS3 (rev 3.3) motherboard. I noticed that in
both the BIOS "PC Health Status" and in EasyTune 5 (build 2006.05.25
from the CD - the version on Gigabyte's server doesn't read the CPU
frequency), the CPU temperature is always lower than the System
temperature - right now the...

GA-M55Plus-S3G - Only One Floppy Supported? by
tbl
After spending a lot of time rigging a long-enough data
cable to reach from the mainboard's connector to the top of
the case where my 3.5 floppy drives reside, I see no way in
the BIOS setup to use more than one floppy drive!
Am I missing something?

I Installed CPU (E6700) and cooler, power supply (Seasonic S12-650) , and
plugged in power connectors (24 pin main, ATX 12V 2x, and PCIE 12V). I also

I turned on and the board goes into a loop where it emits as series of very
rapid beeps, followed by a shutdown (case fans...

GA-965P-DS3 Installation comments by
Barry Watzman
This ia another post of my experiences with my new GA-965P-DS3 board.
These are mostly Windows installation notes. My system has two SATA
hard drives (being used as standard drives in a non-RAID mode) and two
IDE optical drives (DVD burners).
Generally, the board is working well and I'm happy...

GA-7N400Pro2 by
Rudy Kube
Hi, I am using two sata hdd's as my main drives. Also have a couple of DVD's
burners and an IDE HDD for backup use. I have the bios set for sata and to
boot scsi. What bugs me is it does an IDE scan, finds nothing and boots up
which adds time to the boot process. Can the scan be stopped?

the nVIDIA nForce2 Series Utility CD (Version 1.0)
On pages 89/90 of the manual, it lists drivers that can either be

BIOS Again!! by
Jb
I've tried every which way to update the BIOS on my GA-K8NXP-SLI board to
enable me to upgrade to an AMD dual core cpu.
@BIOS is very flaky and when it does succeed the computer gives long beeps
ie the bios is frizzed. Luckily dual bios means I can go back to F6 version
and try again. Making a...

GA-965G-DS3 different versions? by
WannaKatana
I see different versions of this motherboard. Some of the online
retailers have great prices but don't tell the version. What is the
difference between the versions? I thought it was just the BIOS
version but I've been told it's more than that.
Thanks,
Joel

m55plus-s3g front panel sound connectors??? by
Strutter1982
I have the GA-M55Plus-S3G board that has front panel sound connection for 8
channel sound, but my case has plugs for 6 channel sound, so is there a way
to make it work?
all the plugs are individual, not one solid connector if that helps?

GA-MA69VM-S2 and error message by
David M. Sweeney
I recently installed this motherboard (GA-MA69VM-S2) and it runs well.
However, when it first boots up, I see this message:"K8 NPT DATA CHANGE
PLEASE INPUT TO DMI" Does this mean anything to anyone? I have searched
the web and so far have found nothing useful.
Thanks!
