laptop. Ran memtest86 v3.2 and each stick passed when it was the only
one installed (either slot). Got errors when both were installed at
the same time. Tested with one new stick and the original 512 meg
stick with no errors...

Memory Query by

Hi,
I have just set up an elderly PC with a MyComp VP3-586B-W877 motherboard
running an AMD K2 450mhz. Old, I know, but it does all that is required.
The PC originally had one 128mb SDRAM module which was in the first of three
banks and was recognised and worked fine. I added a second 128mb...

Hi,
I have a new quadcore Acer Aspire E 15 that has upgraded itself to
Win10. I purchased it with 4 GB RAM installed. MS Task Manager says of
the Memory, Speed: 1333 MHz, Slots used: 1 of 2, Form factor: SODIMM,
Hardware reserved: 117 MB. I presume 117 MB is reserved for video.
Unfortunately,...

Memory Question by
Jack Bruss
Simple question (I hope). My Mb supports both 400MHz-PC3200 and
333MHz-PC2700 memory. I currently have 2 256 333MHz-PC2700 Dimms in place
on the mb, and I want to add a 512 in an empty socket for 1G total. My
question is should I buy PC2700 to be compatible with the memory already in
place,...

Hello,
I have a Biostar Motherboard (M7NCD). I am trying to figure what type
of memory I have installed. When my computer boots it says memory 266.
If I run Aida32, and run a bench mark test it groups my memory with
the PC2100 type memory. Belarc Advisor does not give accurate
information either....

I am running Windows XP and up until recently had two sticks of SDRAM Memory
in my computer 1x 128MB and 1x 256MB. I upgraded by removing the 128 stick
and replacing it with a 512MB stick.
I notice no difference in performance. I told an associate about this and

Memory question by
Bill Cunningham[_2_]
I have put a new memory stick into my XP x64. I removed two 512 MB
sticks. This new one is 1024 MB. Why would my system still be saying I have
896 MB of ram? Do I need to do something in BIOS? When I had a 1024 and a
512 MB in there it was showing I had 1.3 GB of ram.
How much Ram can XP...
