GA-6VX7-4x Startup problem on POST by
VG
I have a small problem when I start up my PC. The system freezes after the
first few lines of the POST. The last line of the POST reads 'Checking NV
RAM'
I then press the 'Reset' button on my PC, and the system boots into Windows
normally.
I don't have this problem if I shut down the PC and leave...

I recently acquired a GA-6VX7B-4X motherboard on e-bay but after careful

Has anyone come across...

GA-6VX7B-4X: Problems with booting by
Roger Toliver
I've recently upgraded the processor on this board from a PIII 866 to
a PIII 1.0 GB. After the upgrade the system refuses to boot. No video,
no post, no nothing. I did attach a speaker to the system to check for
beep codes, but it wasn't even doing that.
I went back the the 866 processor only to...

GA-6VXC7-4X sensors by
Frank
I installed Motherboard Monitor to keep an eye on my system temps and fans.
The closest supported MB available was for the GA-6VXC7-4X-P, so I can't be
sure the default setting are accurate.
There are three temperature sensors. The manual does not specify the
location/assignment of the sensors. ...

GA-6VXDC7 doesn't recognise Maxtor 80GB HDD in BIOS, but does in Windows by
yellow.elephant
I bought a Maxtor ATA 133 80GB hard disc to put in my GA-6VXDC7 run PC (with
two PIII 733 CPUs). When I run the bios to auto recognise / install the hard
disc the PC locks up and a reboot is the only way out. Using it as a slave
to my IBM 10.5GB hdd it shows as an identical size drive to the...

GA-6VXE7+ BIOS by
Chris
I recently tried to update the Award BIOS on a GA-6VXE7+ using @BIOS.
Unfortunately on rebooting it doesn't.
I get three quick beeps followed by a pause while the floppy drive is
accessed then two more beeps. The motherboard manual does not mention
what the beeps mean so I assume the BIOS is...

GA-6VXE7+ with blaster live CT4830 and Windows 2000 by
Moe
Hello guys,
I ran this in creative.products.sound_blaster.live and was told that I
might get the answer here.
I did a format to my W2K because it does not boot anymore. Everything
works fine but my Live Value CT4830. It used to work fine with Windows
2000 (and still works fine with 98 SE). It...

the motherboard) has been bashed, and now rattles around loosely.

This and other connectors are integrated onto the board. If I can remove
the one on top (the pink...

GA-6WMMC7 beeps? by
Bernd
Hi!
Since this morning, my 3 yr old GA-6WMMC7 started to beep... I suspect a
heat problem. Any one that has an idea about this sound (only 9K)...
http://people.freenet.de/BerndOK/mainboard.mp3
My handbook does not tell me anything about alert sounds... neither does the
gigabyte website.

I recently upgraded my software to Win2k3, (from XP), and now my system

Runs fine on Duran 850 but any attempt to run a Duran 1300 results in a cpu
