Wireless Access Point Modes by
Grinder
I've been struggling, perhaps just with vocabulary, in trying to set up
a home network. Here's the scenario: In one end of an L-shaped house,
I have a combination DSL modem/wireless router that is serving a desktop
and a couple of wireless media devices.
In the other end of the L-shaped...

a way that I can preview slides on the laptop while projecting the main
slide program to an audience. I've tried all the options that laptop
video cards offer, but come back to the basic problem which is that the

Video card upgrade to improve streaming video? by
DFBonnett
I have an older frankenputer with an AGP 8x slot and regular PCI
slots. Currently am using 32 meg Matrox G450 (AGP 4X?). Video does
not stream well (choppy) and I am wondering if an upgrade to an 8X
card with more memory would be worthwhile or if there is a system
tweak I could do. Currently,...

Or even 6-7 hours continuous mode without turn off? (however, from outlet).
Possible hardware issues, wear?

I've connected my usual CRT monitor in order to fix a few problems on
this computer but I can't access safe mode as I get the message
'Out of range - H: 75.0K V: 59.9'
75.0K is flashing in red
59.9 is blue.

eMachine won't keep time by
Menno Hershberger
I have an eMachine here with Windows XP SP3 that has a severe time problem.
For instance, it lost 57 minutes in the time it took me to run defrag on it
which was about an hour and a half. I just rebooted it and it lost 10
minutes. There doesn't seem to be any set pattern. I just rebooted it...

OT, but.... by
Retired
Someone wants me to copy a bunch of pictures (jpgs) off their computer onto
a DVD-R disc so they can watch them on their home DVD player. What kind of
software / converter do I need to do this? Or can it even be done?

I had an Antec Neo-HE 550 p/s in a machine that died a couple years ago

PCI Hard Drive (IDE) Controller Card by
tb
I have A Trinity 400 (S1854) motherboard that goes back to 1999.
Currently, it has an 80GB IDE/PATA hard drive installed.
It is my understanding that the BIOS of a motherboard going back to
that era has a 137GB (or so) limit in terms of hard drive size.
I would like to install a 320GB IDE/PATA...
