I googled around and found a copy of SmartStart 5.5 on HP's site and burned a copy of it...

Compaq Management Agents Event Notifier not function by
masufa
Hello,
I've a Proliant ML370 with W2k Advanced Server and I've configured the
Compaq management agents event notifier to send SMTP mail. I've
selected all notification events. I receive mail from NIC Agents (ver.
6.40) when , for example, I turn off a NIC from the Network team, so I
think the...

help installing SCO on proliant ML350 by
DaveT
hello,
I'm trying to install SCO 5.0.5 on proliant ML350 with a 3200 array
controller.
I found the SCO document specifying to use the BTLD disks to load the
driver for the 3200 array controller. I follow those steps, but after the
driver loads successfully, I see a warning:
Warning: ida: the order...

Mix Processor speeds in Workstation by
David Pendleton
Can a PIII-500 and a PIII-550 be installed on the same AP-400 motherboard? A
processor will run at less than it's rated speed, will it not?
Thanks all.

Multi-Processor usage by
Doug F
Dave,
Thanks, that's helpful. Unfortunately this is my only multi-processor
box. Setting the "affinity" seemed to help when I deselected 2 of the
cpu's, but when all were selected all the processing quickly went to
either the first or third cpu. However this was short lived as it gave
me an ASR...

Fan speed on ProLiant 3000 Server by
Fpbear II
The fan speed on the ProLiant 3000 is always running at the same speed (very
loud). I thought this was capable of variable speed, so it slows down when
it's cold. I have the support pack installed. Is there some configuration
in one of the management agents to set the fans to variable speed?

Can you add a Integrated Management LCD to a 1200? by
.
I've just acquired a Proliant 1200R server, and I've noticed the little
blanking plate on the front panel that certainly looks like it's meant
to take a Integrated Management Display, a la the Proliant 7000. This
machine is a Pentium II (266MHz) model and I was wondering, will the
1200 accept an...

Standard Benchmarks for File Servers by

just on throughput, but on latency on trivial I/O operations like expanding

Pathetic Performance of RA4x000 RAID Arrays by
Will
I've been using RA4x000 as a cheap disk source for applications that do not
require very high disk performance. I had assumed the RA4x000 RAID
systems would bottleneck on the 1 Gbit fibre channel interface, which is far
more throughput than I could get out even six drives in a RAID 0 array....
