Power Adapter for HP ScanJet 5470c by David J. Owens
The power adapter for an HP ScanJet 5470c got separated from the scanner. I found two power adapters in a closet that might be the one that came with the scanner. How do I tell which one is the correct adapter? Does anybody know the output specs for the adapter?

Problems with Canon & Epson scanners by [email protected]
A few weeks ago I bought a Canon 5000 scanner and used it mainly to scan slides. Some of the scans had a horizontal blue line across the middle and bands of small coloured squares on some others. I took it back and got an Epson 2400 scanner. The slide scans are good but a bit of the top and bottom...

HP 3200C on WIN-XP by Tom Stephenson
I have an HP3200C scanner connected to my system (via parallel printer port). It has worked in the past although the function has been flaky. I found that the power save software would cause the computer to take five or more minutes to shut down. I renamed that file so that the power save feature...

Agfa SnapScan 1212p and Linux by Peter Wölzl
Hi, Has anyone successfully configured and installed an Agfa Scanner 1212p (parallel port) under Linux? According to the SANE homepage the parallel port version of this scanner doesn't seem to be supported. Are there alternatives to SANE? My system is:

new scanner vs old scanner by Talal Itani
Hi, I have a question about scanners: Is a new/cheap scanner better than an old/expensive scanner? I am asking this question because my SCSI card controlling my HP6100C went bad. I am debating weather to get a new SCSI card or a new scanner like the Epson 1660 or Epson 2400. Any advise...

I have a Lexmark X125 (All in One). When I scan with Abbyy Finereader OCR if I open the scanner settings, the option Autoamtic Feeder although marked appears greyed (so desactivated). If I select multiple pages scan, everytime I scan a second page I need to do it manually, the feeder works...

Resolution question (Newbie) by Peter McVries
I recently got a Canon LIDE 20 for scanning family album pics and so on to a digital format. I can set the resolution to a max of 1200 dpi. This results in a *lot* of RAM being used and big file sizes. Now, I want these pictures to be of decent quality...but is 1200 dpi overdoing it? Also,...

Scanner warming up by J. A. Mc.
On Fri, 18 Jul 2003 09:43:14 +0800, "Click" found these unused words floating about: Every time I start to use my scanner an Epson 1660 Photo it starts by saying that it's warming up. If I'm only scanning one page it takes much longer to warm up than to scan the...

Canon 9900F Software? by bowser
Has Canon improved on their software for the 9900F scanner? Initial reports of the scanner said that while the hardware is nice, the software needs improvement. I was wondering if Canon has issued any updates, and if those updates are worthwhile.

Canon N670U & Latest Downloads by the6carrules
I have the Canon N670U scanner. I just went to Canon's website and downloaded the latest Scangear & ToolBox executables to update my system. When I try to run the executables, they fail because they are assuming that I have a "C:\" drive on my system. The executables are trying to automatically...

EPSON Perfection 2400 by Fashion1st
I just got this a few days ago. It scans ok, but now I can't find how to get to the window where you choose the dpi setting and such. Or the help listing with all the topics and terms in alpha order. Not the smart panel I see that fine. I need the dpi setting window. I had it a few days go...

HP 6110 or Brother 5200c - using ADF for Acrobat by Brian
I'm thinking of purchasing either HP 6110 Multi-function machine or Brother 5200c since they both have an automatic document feeder. The reason I want an ADF is that I sometimes scan like 10 pagegs at once, and I'd like to make those ten pages into a PDF format. I use Acrobat 5.0 Could anyone who...

HP 7450 pdf scans by David L. Turner
My HP 7450 often, but not always, produces scans of journal articles or timesheets that are muddy or have 1/4" black or grey blocks in pyramid patterns at the edges of figures or pages. Today it dropped the contents of a key block in a timesheet I was sending. HP has replace the ADF once and the...

UMAX Vista S-12 by Paul Haltenberg
About a year ago I managed to install and make work my UMAX Vista S-12 under Windows 2000 SP2. I'm planning to move to a new harddrive now and made a fresh install of Windows 2000 SP3. However, having installed MagicScan 2.43 results in the following: preview works ok, but when I hit the "Scan"...
