"scanning IDE drives...." ? by Rocky
At boot up with my P4C800-E Deluxe I get a message "scanning IDE drives ....." that lasts about 8 seconds before the boot continues - is this normal and can it be made to go quicker? In the BIOS I have designated the HD as the primary boot device. Thanks. Alistair

"System failed CPU test" by Tocapet
Whenever I play Return to Castle Wolfenstein, the game plays just fine with all the sound effects. But every 5 - 10 minutes or so, the voice says "System failed CPU test". But the game goes right on playing and doesn't miss a lick. This is a Barton core 2800 cpu on an Asus A7N8X Deluxe ver 2...

"System Failed CPU Test" by Tocapet
System failed CPU test. I got this message over and over again while playing Return to CAstle Wolfenstein. Everything working OK otherwise. Finally fixed it by using Winbond Voice Editor to delete the message and safe-burn it to the chip on my A7N8X Deluxe mobo. No more annoying voices. Tocapet

"xp 64" Sound by Danielle E
I am wondering what sound cards and drivers people are using with "xp 64". I have an ASUS K8V-X board with an ADI AD1980 sound chip. I have not been able to find a 64 bit driver that works for me. I also tried a Mad Dog Prowler 4.1 card and no luck there either. Danielle
