ASUS P6T7 WS-Supercomputer Motherboard Boot Issue fron Power Off/Sleep by
pcpilot[_4_]
Hi All,
This issue is bugging me very much now as the only workaround is, once
running, to leave powered up 24/7....very costly and very energy
inefficient.
To explain more the issue developed suddenly after 3 - 4 months of use
fron 18th Jan 2010. Subsequently worked with Asus via email carrying...

External serial port connector for P5B-E motherboard? by
Bert[_4_]
The P5B-E motherboard has a single serial port that's not brought out to
the rear panel. The book shows a connector module that mounts in an
expansion slot with the note "The serial port module is purchased
separately."
Is there some place I can lay my hands on one of these? There's no...

Wonky DVD Burner by
Rhino[_3_]
I am not particularly strong with hardware so I hope someone here can get me
going in the right direction.
I replaced my old DVD burner with a new SATA one a few months back. It's
been working fine so far but now it's starting to act up. Just now, I was
trying to burn a DVD-RW. I put the disk...

Is this board a good choice? ASUS Sabertooth ... by
[email protected]
This seems like a top board, lots of good options, but
there is a lot of criticism about dead boards out of the
box and lack of helpful/timely support from ASUS.
Anyone used the:
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s
USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
board and liked it?
Do...

the thing is an Enermax 625W Liberty PSU, and Windows 7 (64 bit,...

IDE CD ROM devices not detected on boot from Asus P8Z68-V _Pro/Gen3 by
Tom McCreadie
With a recent pc rebuild based on the Asus P8Z68-V _Pro/Gen3 mobo / i7 2600K /
16GB Corsair ram, I preferred for various reasons to reuse my two previous IDE
optical drives (Plextor dvd burner; Lite-On cd rom). As the new mobo has no IDE
slots, I bought a couple of cheap SATA-to-IDE powered...

Bootable diagnostics disc? by
Percival P. Cassidy
I'm having some problems with an F1A75-V Pro, but the only Asus
diagnostics I can find require some version of Windows. I do not have
Windows on this machine and do not want Windows on this machine.
Is there a stand-alone bootable diagnostics disc -- Linux or DOS?

Can't see full 3 TB of new Seagate hard drive by
Rhino[_3_]
As per the subject line, neither Windows nor Seagate Disk Wizard can see the
full 3 TB of my new 3 TB SATA hard drive. In fact, they can only see 746.50
GB.
I completely my backups and upgraded my OS to XP Pro with SP3 yesterday. I
found a section on the Seagate website that is dedicated to...

I have the ASUS M3A motherboard and, until a couple of hours ago, I had two
750 GB SATA hard drives and an IDE DVD burner. The hard drives are close to

DVD Burner - IDE vs SATA by
Rhino[_3_]
Am I right in believing that a DVD burner using SATA is going to be
noticeably faster in burning disks (given the same speed, e.g. 12X) than an
IDE-based burner?
It's time I replaced my old burner because it's getting harder and harder to
coax the drawer open. It can take up to five minutes of...

the "I can't see all 4 GiB RAM" problem - what are the reserved addresses? by
Orson Cart
There are thousands of posts in forums, where some novice whines:
I increased my RAM to 4 gigs but Windoze/Ubuntu only sees XXXX!
And the answer is that a significant percentage of the 32-bit
address space is reserved for devices (even if there is no
onboard VGA) so upgrade to a 64-bit OS and add...

ASUS M3A - How many hard drives? by
Rhino[_3_]
I have an ASUS M3A mainboard with two 750 GB hard drives. Both are nearly
full so I'd like to add a third, larger hard drive, probably a 3 TB drive
since they have become fairly affordable at $150 for an internal one.
Are there any negatives associated with adding a third drive to this...
