Epson Tech Suppt Says by
measekite
I just spoke to Epson Tech Support. This is their official
recommendation on turning the printer off by its power button and it
applies to all Epson printers.
When you turn the printer on after having previously turned it off via
the power button the printer goes through a short warm up cycle and...

DC
My cyan shows a white stripe in print test. Actual printout look OK. I've done
multiple print clean cycles.
I've noticed some post mention about removing the printhead and cleaning with
some solution. The manual did not have instructions. Are there somewhere on the
net? Th printer is Canon Pixma...

The real risk and reward of refilling ... long by
Made Man
Every time someone even mentions the topic of refilling cartridges on
this newsgroup, measekite has a conniption fit and starts posting
multiple responses screaming that (1) You don't know what you are
getting when you use third party ink; and (2) Using third party ink
will surely ruin your...

Anything you can spray on a "normal" cd to allow inkjet printing? by
Doc
In a quest to use gear in ways the manufacturer says you can't, anyone know
of or tried some aerosol product you could lightly mist on the label side of
a CD/DVD to allow printing on an inkjet printer with direct CD/DVD printing
capability and that for sure won't cause any damage?
Yes, I know they...

A caution on Canon printers by
Andrew Mayo
I have been an enthusiastic advocate of the Canon S520/600/6xx series
of printers because they are fast, produce good quality results and
have separate ink tanks which are cheap to replace.
When I purchased my S520 some 18 months ago, I was told then that the
printhead was expected to last about...

Anybody using refills for Canon i9900? by
Tom
I've had my i9900 for over a year now and recently I've been printing a lot
more of those 13 X 19 posters so the ink costs are starting get expensive. So
far I've only used Canon OEM inks but I'd like to switch to refills to save
some money. I realize that the BCI-6 cartridges are among the easiest...

Compatible inks OK for iP4000? by
MadisonS
Hi, I just purchased a Canon iP4000. It was about half price compared to a
year ago. So it was a good time to buy. My question is, I was planning to
use compatible inks since a set of Canon brand ones would cost me more than
I paid for this printer! Anyone have any experience with G&G...

Photo Printer -- battle between the best by
Will in SF
Hi, all. I have narrowed my choice of best photo printers to Epson or
Canon. I am having trouble selecting due to some posts in this group,
such as, Epson printers have printer ink problems, Canon's prints are
as good as Epson. Can anyone who has a Canon or Epson printer reply
with their pros and...

HP printers are they worth the money? by
OM
HP: OK... more expensive.
But from my experience, I'd argue that they still have the best
printers.
Fast printing, good quality and also importantly for me: quiter than
most other makes.
But... my only gripe with HP is that for most of the lower spec models,
you only have two ink cartridges.
So......

Turn off laser printer with power strip? by
Gary Vocks
I'm wondering if there are any negative effects on a color laser printer
from using a power strip to turn the printer on and off. I can't find
anything in the product documentation but I thought that people here might
know. I've been told that turning the power off to an inkjet without
turning...

Hey guys, this is the last post I am going to waste on our very own village
idiot. Arthur Entlich is right. This is a printer NG (including inks as
well) and not a venue for MK's entertainment at the expense of all the
people who find him offensive. For those of us who watch Bill Maher and...

Why do people absolutely want color *prints* ? by
GP
It's just as if people can't see if they don't hold a print in their hands:
they absolutely want to materialize the picture. What for?
I find pictures look much better on my monitor. The dynamic range seems much
wider to me onscreen, color saturation is optimal, pictures can be enlarged at
will to...
