HIS 9700 Pro card, is this any good.. by
Skid
A 9700 Pro is a good card, but not all of them are created equal. Some
cardmakers skimp on the memory and underclock the cards to keep them stable.
If it runs at clock speeds of 325 mhz core and 310 mhz memory, it's a true
pro. If not, it's something less.

HIS ATI RADEON X1950 dual link crossfire on a Asus A8N-E Motherboard by
Jason A
My understanding is that the Crossfire "master" cards, can be used as a
stand-alone video card, also. Generally, the two biggest differences
seem to be that the master cards have:
A) The compositing chips
B) The "special" video connector that requires the Crossfire dongle
cable, which will...

How can so many ignorant, rude ass people be in one NG? by
Bastard Operator from Hell
Well, I gotta tell ya, its not easy. However, I attribute it to clean
living, eating right, and getting at LEAST 8 hours of sleep per night. What
is YOUR excuse?

I have a GF3 in my spare machine and gaming on it is ugly compared to
my 9700 Pro. Even the 4400 I replaced with the 9700 was a good step up
from the GF3.

I'm curious about memory usage on video cards and their increased memory
sizes. Is there a way of telling how much memory you are using on your
video card? Something like task manager that tells you how much...

aiw 9000 (came with 8.1)
I just upgraded to 8.5 and now I have the same problem. "Library" function
has disappeared !
Maybe I missed a file - the upgrade required 7 files (from 2 categories) off
the ATI site.
Is there an eighth ?

How to run dual monitors with 9800pro? by
Andy Cunningham
Some monitors such as the Iiyama VM Pro 454 have two VGA inputs, which can
be toggled between using a button on the front of the monitor. This doesn't
take care of the keyboard and mouse, which would require a KVM switch -
these are now available fairly cheaply though.
However, if you're running...

huge bugs in MMC by
Rob G
I'm having HUGE problems with MMC 8.8. When I try to record the audio
begins
echoing. The inputs ALWAYS mute when I launch the tv application as well.
I think
there are serious problems with how the TV apps interracts with the audigy 2
mixer.
I've gone back to MMC 7.9 and my regular TV Wonder.
